You have to register on Bandlab. Control Center is pretty much dead. Sonar is gone. Cakewalk by BandLab is the new product. RIP Sonar!

See the main announcement.  You will use the BandLab Assistant.

DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...

The Command Center will still be useful to manage plug-ins and content bundled with Platinum. The new BandLab Cakewalk includes the files from the SONAR Platinum installer. It does not have the other plug-in and content installers.

Cakewalk Core has registry entries just like SONAR Platinum. The Tool Menu settings are shared for all versions of SONAR and the new BandLab Cakewalk. All of mine show up including SoundForge. You may edit the registry or use the tool I wrote to manage the Tool menu from http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3472457. It is called SONARToolsEditor.
Then I will re-post this there.

Not that kind of online.

The installer is online, not the DAW.

There is no need for continuous internet connection. The connection is needed for install, activation and update. The program stores all data locally just like every version of SONAR before it.

If I could count on that, I will be glad to wait a little longer next time.

The CCC was still working earlier today because for some reason the vst scan would freeze on Zeta 2+!!! I uninstalled it and used the CCC to reinstall Zeta 2+. The scan went smoothly afterwards. I don't know how long it will still be up but it was working earlier!!

FWIW, Zeta+2 hangs on me when I run a reset. All I do is move the plug-in out of the scan path, allow a scan to run to completion, put the plug-in back and the automatic background scan always picks it up.

So, will CCC be up or not?

If I need to re-install everything (not included in the free version), how will I do that without CCC?

Thanks but I was asking more for future reference than needing it this minute.
