Do you use dual monitors when work on Sonar X1?

I'm curious how many of you who use Sonar X1 work on dual monitor set ups?

If you do, how essential do you think having two monitors is? Would having to work with only one monitor be a big setback for you?

If you don't, how do you feel about that? Do you wish you had a second monitor, or don't mind just one?

I had two then went back to one as my second one died.  It has been very very hard to go back to one.

I started with one 19" CRT monitor, went to 2 17" LCD and I have now 2 24" monitors + one USB monitor. It would be hard to go back to one monitor even with screensets in X1 that are great to switch views.

Funnily enough, I've literally just ordered a second monitor for at home. I've been switching between using one and two depending on where I'm working.

Two is nice, but I wouldn't call it essential. Certainly I've been using X1 at home for the last 8 months or whatever it is with one just fine.

I have to monitors - 24 inch and an old 21 inch CTR.  Time to replace it, since it is too dark now.  I'll have to measure to see if I can fit 2 24 inches on my workstation.

I recently moved from one 19 inch monitor to a 24 inch + the old 19 inch, and I wouldn't want to go back. Most of the time I simply have my track view on the main screen and the console on the other. It's great for keeping those big plug in windows out of the way too.

One 40 incher over here!  I would add a smaller 2nd monitor, but I don't have the desk space right now......But, 1 large screen works extremely well too.

I have just one at the moment....

And I attach a TV if I'm working with video related stuff but it's rubbish as a second monitor.

But I would love a huge monitor with ridiculously high resolution. However, I am planning to purchase two identical 22" or 24" (desk space y'know) and get rid of the one I currently have.

Two monitors are 132 times better than one.

Going back to the essential / not essential question, I'm getting mine because I've got a lot of sound to picture work coming up. Having a second screen for video is a significant enhancement, possibly shading into "essential" territory.

What would everyone else really miss if they had to go back to a single monitor?

One monitor, 22" 1900x1080. Would use a second (or a larger single monitor with higher resolution) but lack the space to put one anywhere sensible.

    I'm using 3x lcd monitors.

    2x Samsung 27" and 1x Dell 21.5". All 1920x1080.

Both Samsung are placed at the center and the smaller Dell at a lower side drawer on the right.

2x 27" is really enough for me, but I've got the Dell touch screen just for some experiment (hoping to mix X1 with touch screen) which didn't work out.. so I have SD3 drummer placed on the Dell full time. One of the Samsung also doubles up for my second PC (internet) display, switched via VGA / HDMI input.

I've used dual monitors since Sonar 4: one for track view and one for console view.  I started out with dual 17 inchers, then I upgraded to dual 19 inch monitors.  I was happy with that setup until I saw a Christmas special about 3 years ago for 24inch widescreen monitors.  They were extremely cheap, so I got two. I love them!  I do some work on my laptop, and I really miss my dual monitor setup that I have on my desktop!

I had 2 monitors at one point but found it distracting so I switched back to 1.

If I was doing video/audio in X1 I could definitely see the benefits to a 2nd monitor, but for what I do, 1 works perfectly for me.

I do wish it was a little bigger though. It's only a 24" Samsung LED and I have it behind my audio monitors so it doesn't interfere with the sound when I'm mixing/mastering.

Only one, but it's a 23" with plenty of space...

But if I had the room on my desk, I think I would go to 2.

I firmly believe I have the best set up possible with two monitors!

I have my track view with all the info I need on there I dont need the inspector and I I have the browser in multidock full screened on the bottom.

Heres the great part, piano roll, brower step sequencer all in tabs I open and close on the second screen, but the biggest work flow enhancement is the console view down there full screened. I have one monitor above the other so the bottom one feels so natural having the virtual mixing desk under the monitor with the track view, I can see my sends fx and all my tracks on there, it truly is something else for me.

    Two monitors here too.
One for the track/main view and one for the console.
I will never go back to a single monitor, I'd rather add a third one.

Just one - a 23" which is very nice. Given the current pricing I'd spring for a second but I don't have the real estate on my desk.
