I started to correct bitflipper about Oregon being the only state it is illegal to pump your own gas, but he corrected it himself. I doubt NJ ever changes that because grwoing up there we watched how gas went up in the surrounding states the moment they got self service. The insurance costs are greater than paying someone minimum wage

craigb There's a little known thing about Washington... The Judges own the jails (at least down here in Clark County), so it's in THEIR best interests to put as many people in them as they can. They get lots of kick backs that way from the Federal government. Needless to say, they make the rules so that it's easy to get a DUI (of any kind).

craigb ... I'm actually shocked that it's not legal in Oregon. I think more people have it everyday there than in Washington and Colorado combined!
Actually I'm not. Oregon, for all intents and purposes is two states. You got Portland and Eugene, and then the rest of the state which is older folks and country folks to a T. They are all still nice, and all that, but in the end, they are not quite modernized, and I can easily point to the church in Pendleton making a scandal in 1983 when MTV got turned on by the cable company, and they went on a rampage saying that their children would get corrupted. All of the small towns in Oregon, are somewhat like that, and after a while it is a bit weird, but they are still nice people, hospitable and friendly. And they don't always know a lot of music at all, though I expect things to have improved since the Internet made it around.

I need to find out where I can go to sign a partition to end the prohibition of marijuana! I don't drink, smoke, Norfork, but I would love some brownies. And NOT the kind that tried to beat me up for not buying their cookies

I'm sure once other cash strapped states realize how much can be had by tripling the price via taxes, "morals" will magically disappear and legalization will spread. Just about every rationalization for keeping it illegal applies to alcohol and some would argue that alcohol is worse. In Colorado so far 1/8 of an ounce is going for $65-$75 compared to the $25 street value and that's with some distributors absorbing excise tax to keep prices "down". That kind of markup tends to trump "values"

lol...I'm guessing the pricesd actually benefit the street dealers. I know here in WA, at least for now, police are leaving most people alone regarding marijuana even though official stores have not opened yet aside fro the medical facilities. This decision to make any kind of enforcement low priority has been somewhat of a blessing for the Nancy Botwin's of the world. I suspect once the government is selling weed fulltime they may start dropping the hammer on all the people who will be undercutting them.

I bet Obama will strike down the federal laws with an executive order in his last two years, I hope so. He will gain a LOT of lost approval if he does. Then the states need to wise up, sell and tax it. I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a lid today... (OK, I just dated myself.. LOL) J

Yes, BUT... 1/8 oz of the stuff they sell legally is probably equal to a whole oz of the stuff we used to get. From what I hear, the stuff today is stronger than the hashish of yesteryear. Is the street stuff as strong as the legal stuff? I ask because I have had no contacts for probably 20 years and not many for 40 years.... 40 years ago I knew everyone and who had what. Alas, no more. Like I said, maybe I should just go to Bonaroo and get my moobs painted. Shirley someone would trust me then... Oh and perhaps once they see the success of legalizing pot, they will legalize heroin, LSD, and Quaaludes. Ya think? They once sold heroin and needles (works) in the Sears and Roebuck catalog... really, they did. J

I smoked weed for years. I still have a cheeky toke like twice a year. One thing I will say is that habitual use can ruin a man's sex life. It lowers your testosterone and can cause impotence in varying degrees.

As for today's stuff being too potent...just smoke less of it! Smaller bongs, smaller joints.
