Does anyone use the Zildjian Gen16 Cymbal Pack?
If so, any opinons? Audiomidi currently has it on sale for $25.00. And apparently it includes some version of BFD Eco.

For a minute I thought you were talking about a pack of actual cymbals. If so I would be all over it.

I've got the Gen16 Vol.2 pack and it's very good. It's rather big (about 15 gigs) but that accounts for the great detail in the samples/instruments. $25 bucks is indeed a "no-brainer".

Whoa... 15GB just for cymbals? That's nuts. They must be good. lol... And what's this about BFD Eco being included? That sounds a little hinkey. Got a link, stevec?

If they're seriously giving away a copy of Eco at that price that's insane and unmissable. I would buy the zildgen set were it not for the fact that they don't ship to the UK. There's a few posts on the software forum about it and lots of people on the FX forum bought the Gen16 packs at full price saying they were well worth the money. At the moment fxpansion have a 30% off sale and they are $55 each and $125 for the Z pack so it really is a no brainer. Steve

I'm tempted. I mean I like cymbals and all but.....I don't have a problem with the ones that come with BFD2 although I would like a wider range I guess. I'll have another look Steve

I'll tell you what made me bite the bullet Steve, I was trying to find a set of 3 similar sounding crashes for a particular song, and ended up having to slightly alter the tuning of one which fitted the mix perfectly. I need more crash cymbals!

I've not had much of a chance to play with BFD Eco, since getting it last week, so before I go and get an more sample packs for it I should listen a bit more to the ones that I have. Tis difficult to ignore a cymbal pack though... having a set of more subtle tins to hit has to be a plus...

Does anybody know whether or not these cymbals can be "plugged into" another drum sample program such as Superior Drummer? I'm a bit mystified how to use them using the "included software powered by Eco" if I'm using Superior Drummer for the rest of my drum kit sounds in a given project.

this is an interesting snippet:- BFD Eco DV is almost identical to BFD Eco. It includes an additional all-cymbal mode, which re-purposes all 12 kit-piece slots as cymbal slots. It is switchable to drumkit mode, which operates in exactly the same way as BFD Eco. The BFD Eco manual is supplied, with a summary of differences included in the Z-Pack1 installation/quick-start guide.

I think they're for FXpansion only but if it really does include eco it is a no brainer and as for using it with superior drummer I'd hazard a guess and say you should be able to load both eco and superior drummer in the same project so you could just use them together. You may find you actually prefer the sound and features of BFD Eco : ) I didn't say that Steve

To get the same pack delivered to the UK is going to cost £83... The fact the BFD Eco DV can be configured so that all twelve slots are cymbals, this has to be a plus... Why bother bringing them into another drumming package? I'm now using Battery, Session Drummer and BFD Eco, and I can mix and match the best aspects from each :^)

@twaddle...I could load up both programs, but I was just thinking it would be impossible to share one midi drumkit track with two sample programs at the same time. Not sure if there is a way to do that...I'd love to get these cymbals for $25, but I want to keep using Superior. :-)
