Anything is possible... I never knew the story about the song... but the idea that Mia Farrow's sister might own a book store in Seaside is easy for me to consider possible.

Well, if it is, you are one heartbeat away from the Beatles.  She could tell you some great stories I am sure.

Funny you should mention Dennis Deyoung. I dated a girl who live next door to Dennis in Prestwick Illinois, better know as Frankfort.  She would babysit his kids so I would come over just to look at the studio above his garage.  He had a huge baby grand piano and would always say,"Kid, this is the piano I wrote Come Sail Away on."  So anyway to make a long story short.  Twenty years later in Chicago's gallery district I happen to be at an art show and see Dennis and Paul McCarthy in the same room.  Small world we live in.  That was the summer Paul drove Route 66 with his new girlfriend.

Actually, I knew that because Nancy Sinatra (Mia was married to Frank for a while) was at one of my charity events for women.  She mentioned the Prudence thing.  Up to that point, I did not know it either.

And there's Benton, Illinois, USA (southern Illinois area)  where George's sister moved to and lived. In 1963, before the Beatles became famous in America, he spent a couple weeks in Benton visiting his sister. I am sure there would be some good 'connection' references from the locals there if they could be found.  A tidbit is that George's sister was able to get a local radio station to play "From Me To You". This was before any other American station caught on to the British Beatlemania that was already occurring.

I own some Beatles albums.

I played with Burleigh Drummond of Ambrosia back when I was in high school. Ambrosia were compared to the Beatles.

I have a friend in Chicago who owns (but does not have in his possession) a Hofner Bass.

My sister saw the Beatles in Chicago in 1965 or 1966.

I once owned a Rickenbacker bass like Paul's.

I have an Alembic bass.

I can handle that.  According to Mike the waiting line is long anyway.   But, my boyfriend wants to actually touch you...he believes that it will impart a gift that will allow him to play the flugelhorn better.

My late uncle was a door man at The Whiskey a Go Go.  He told us about a band to watch for - The Doors.  He told me later that Jim Morrison used to come out, smoke a cigarette and talk to him between sets.  He (Morrison) was always complaining  that they needed to cut a record so they could get out of playing clubs - he hated it.

I remember that summer. They had an article in the Paper about Paul McCartney stopping at a gas station in Joliet, Il in a beat up car driving across America on Route 66 with tha girl he was dating.. NOT HEATHER  - some fans took a picture with him and surprisingly.... while people did  stare at and point -  he didn't get "swarmed" and according to the article he was polite to the cashier and the 3 fans that did approach him

>> article http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20217157,00.html

Picture of Paul from that stop in Illinois - [link=http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/mccartneyroute66.html]http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.n.../mccartneyroute66.html[/link]

As far as Dennis Deyong - He taught music  at Springfield School In Midlothian, Il  - before Styx made it

I taught band classes at Springfield School --   so we have that connection - even though its like 20 years apart

and then ..... Dennis Deyoungs  Current band - I knida sorta but not really know... the Bass player - his name is Hank Horton - And I helped with sound and lights for a local wedding band - and Hank Plays with this wedding band when he's not playing with Dennis - and we're all like ohhhhhhh ahhhhh -- Hank Plays bass with Dennis -- ooooooo ahhhhh

that was years ago - I doubt Hank the bass player for Dennis Deyoung even remembers me -

but boy - it feels like I am part of the current band the the reason for their existence!!! Right?

Got it!
I played the Troubador.
John Lennon was once thrown out of the Troubador, therefore I was in The Beatles.

Hmmmm. I copied Craig's png, "painted" over  his text (by copying his background), saved as a "blank" then added my text, saved a unique file. All stages were a png.

I'm using the Cakewalk theme. Mike, PM me a screen shot so I can see what you see.

Depending on the program you use (I use PhotoShop), it may have created the blank with a white background instead of a transparent one.  If so, even making it a transparent .gif wouldn't work (since that part is already white).  In PhotoShop, you can make the background transparent, white or the "background color" when you create a new file.  If yours does the same, just copy the "box" onto a new one that's the full size (799wx32h) and make sure you save it as a .png (I'm guessing the default for web use is .jpg).

I used Photoshop 5. I did a "save image as" from one of your posts. It was saved as a png. I opened it in Photoshop (as a png). It is a single layer. Is my method of erasing and replacing the the text is what sqwewd it up?

Shouldn't be - it's only the area on the left (about 43 pixels) that's transparent...

Jonbouy

Paul has a home and a studio nearby.  The studio I can see from my landing.

My good lady saw him in the local town church not long ago and he acknowledged her.

Linda used to do much work around here on conservation projects and the local hospital has a McCartney wing.  So the McCartney's have done a fair bit for the benefit of the area.

I believe this is all true because Jonbouy showed me the studio (from high atop the church he mentions). So that puts me three degrees of Kevin Becan from Sir Paul.

Only downside, Macca was no where to be found. Prolly heard Bapu was in town.
