Does everyone in England know somebody who knows somebody who knows a Beatle?

Like in Chicago everyone knows someone who knows someone who has a aunt who knows someone who knows Dennis Deyoung from Styx (He taught music at a school I taught music...there fore some how we are magically and telepathically best friends) 

So what about England.... you know people who know the Beatles?

My brother was Tiny Tim's body guard at the county fair one year back in NJ. LOL

Serves both of em' right for having to put up with each other.

Years later I serviced machines in the hotel where Tiny Tim lived here in Iowa.

The Beatles had to have met Tiny Tim. :)

So it's just.... you know..... somehow that connects you in a way that you were best friends with Jim Morison when he was alive..... and we're even almost a member of the Doors ... right?  I mean when your explain to someone that an old bass player was on a softball team with a cousin of Robbie - you explain with the gusto of " I am practically a member of the "Doors"

Hmm. Interesting. I don't think the Beatles smoked dope back then from everything I read. I thought Dylan hooked em' up long after the Cavern Club days. Somebody's smokin' somethin' tonight though I tells ya.

As long as you're not taller than he is, Dennis likes you (I'm taller... ;-)
 
I know an excellent Chicago guitarist, Ernie Denov, who currently plays with Gary Sinise in his Lt. Dan Band, that did some session recording for Dennis and a good friend of mine, August Zadra, is now his new "Tommy Shaw" for his personal band.
 
HOWEVER, I can't think of anyone that I know (that has admitted) to knowing a Beatle (unless maybe Eddie Van Halen or Walter Trout knew one?).

I have a friend in Liverpool, UK. the early manager for the Beatles but later became promoter (since after the Beatles accepted Eppy's offer), he along with the help of a friend launched the magazine 'Mersey Beat',  he became music publicist, promoter for the Beatles, then went on to be author and in recent years involved in documentaries about the Beatles.

+1 that's what I am talking about!


I had no idea - SongCraft might as well have been an actual Beatle member he is so close to them. WOW!!!

Beatles member? definitely NOT that close *LOL*  my wife knew him a few years before I did.

Correction: The Beatles earliest manager (since January 1961) was more-so their 'promoter', booked the lads at clubs/venues such as; St George's Hall (one the earliest gigs) right then and there he knew the Beatles would become a huge success! Later launched Merseybeat, also wrote several successful books.  Basically he continued as promoter even after 'Eppy' waltz on the scene almost two years later (September 1962) to become the Beatles manager (Eppy - Brian Epstein)!

My wife used to teach Steve Winwood's son, Winwood played with Clapton in Blind Faith, Clapton played the solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

20 or so years ago I bought a set of drums (Pearl) that were (allegedly) once owned by Mr Richard Starky and thus I claim membership of the Beatles

OBVIOUSLY a member. Probably the most important member!

I once dreamed I rode in an elevator with Nico.

I don't remember what floor I got off on.

It's not just those in England.  My mother-in-law grew up in Liverpool, and remembers the Beatles playing a house party she was at as a teenager.
She thought they were sloppy, untalented and obnoxious.  haha

Paul has a home and a studio nearby.  The studio I can see from my landing.

My good lady saw him in the local town church not long ago and he acknowledged her.

Linda used to do much work around here on conservation projects and the local hospital has a McCartney wing.  So the McCartney's have done a fair bit for the benefit of the area.  Sort of like my local version of the Bybee's I guess.

I think if he actually knew I had a cool studio set-up he'd have popped in by now but I already use Bapu if I need a bass line or two so I'd have no work for him really.  His singing is past its best too.

There is a lady named Prudence who owns a quirky little bookstore on the beach in Seaside near Destine Florida. She claims to be that Prudence. Maybe? No? Yes?

Not likely.   Unless she is the sister of Mia Farrow.    But, it could be true, Prudence Farrow (Bruns) lives in Seagrove Beach Fla.

Anything is possible... I never knew the story about the song... but the idea that Mia Farrow's sister might own a book store in Seaside is easy for me to consider possible.


Edit to add:

I just wiki'd Prudence Farrow and she does indeed live or maintain a residence at Seagrove beach which is immediately adjacent (like 2000 feet) to Seaside.

Go figure.
