jb101 Jonbouy jb101 I won't be, Alex. I have felt the same recently, but we can't leave because of dullards. I have started posting less, because fighting the poor wretches can seem a little tiresome. Just laugh at them. Some of the people on here who used to wind me up now provide my daily comedy. You know Sonar is working for you, so take pleasure in their misery. PM people if you have good help for them and stupid people argue with your advice. Now just watch as they all turn up to air their ignorance in public.. (sits back with popcorn..) edited for clarity Some nicely reasoned constructive points of debate you added there... You're obviously way above all the other 'poopy-panted' types you seem to refer to in your post. Hey, JB101 I love that original "Admittedly, it is difficult to reason people out of positions they didn't use reason to attain." quote in your sig. What did you use to attain it. Irony? Sounds like some bit of reworked and cliched wisdom that Anderson fella would have come out with. Only a shameless bum-nuzzling sycophant would adopt that as a signature surely? But then in your eyes I probably have 'poopy-pants' anyway. Gotta love it here who would want to leave? Charming. Thanks for posting. NP. Read back the dross I was responding too. I was particularly amused by the fact that so proud of it you were you ended with the sentence.... edited for clarity...

rabeach someone should document how one of the most stable predictive chips on any motherboard become the bane of human existence. EEPROM The problem isn't with the firmware once it's there ... it's getting it to the EEPROM that's the problem. That's not the chip's fault, it's the connection between where the software comes from and the EEPROM itself. It's not like you can pop it out, slap it in a dedicated chip burner, and pop it back in your PC. I've dealt with a lot of EEPROM's in my point of sales repair days. Some of those old Panasonic units had sets of 6 and 10, and it was not uncommon for them to go bad. Those little receipts you get inside your McDonald's lunch bag ... all come from a tiny little printer that is run by an EEPROM chip with system specific proprietary firmware in it. You have to burn them, test them, retest them, make sure you had the right installation software to match the firmware update ... it's a nightmare unless you do it all day long. So, yeah, the chip itself is quite stable all things considered.

Hi Alex... I hope you don't "leave"... It is never easy getting along with everyone let alone as diverse a group as we get in public forums... and often it can be hard. But as you know it's also very rewarding... Both in the feeling of hearing the success of someone you've helped, or received help from someone else... We all find ourselves in both positions at times... ...and then there's the fact that as artists, we do lean very hard to being very opinionated even when trying not to be! ;-) Personally I do my best to ignore people who aren't here about the music and I do my best to tolerate the many attitudes and moods of the participants... A user can post anything they like (moderator justified) and I can simply ignore it and continue with my thread if I so choose... There are many here who disagree with me or have done so in the past (and future? ;-))... and as long as I believe that they are sincere, I can accept that. We don't all think alike or often not even close! So again I ask... Please sit back... Maybe take a day or two off... and return to us with exuberance as you always have... Thanks... Keni

Alex - you have helped many for quite a while (and miffed one or two along the way), and you are quite knowledgeable. I get frustrated too, particularly when I have spent a good deal of time evaluating someone's set of reported issues and they sometimes completely blow off even responding to either requests for additional info, or they just disappear, or that kind of thing - drives me nuts. But, when it DOES all work, and someone does get something working, sometimes multiple folks - it makes it all worthwhile again for me. There will always be a mixture of folks in the forum, and some will always rub a lot of folks the wrong way, but the percentage of ignorance is pretty small, overall, and in my opinion if what I offer helps folks get things working then it is worth it to me to continue - even if it means putting up with some of the stupidity that crops up now and then. It seems like a lot of folks are trying to get back to a more helpful mindset, with less negativity - and that is welcomed. Hang in there, Bob Bone

I remember (before the FSF days), these types of posts used to befall the CH on a frequent basis.......especially when X1 first came out. Now we have the aftermath of X2..... The more things change, the more they stay the same. Or do they?

I suggested 4x4 hardwood beams and Rockwool, along with a floating floor and ceiling plan to help further diffuse both the top and low end of what feels like a closet space but.... .... the plaster walls are so thin you can still hear the neighbors engaged in some sort of kinky ritual. Aww man I've asked them to tone it down but I guess their overly obsessive behavior has not waned, not even in the slightest, if anything, their behavior has now become way more animal like, sounds like a freaking zoo gone wild. Anyway, at least the white padded walls look nice and... Ooops.... Time to take my medication.

It's important to wear splatter proof gear. If you were too close, make your way to the decontamination center next to the espresso machine. Don't get them confused. I'm just sayin'...

Bub, you should be happy about the "stuff in the air lately". According to the dolts in DC the looming "sequestration" is going to cause a zombie apocalypse, among other things. Brains... brains....... J

I dunno ... he backtracked all over himself in that thread. And you can never say anything that goes against him and Freddie's 'firmware' speech or you get called a 'layman' and they go on a quest of trying to make everyone who don't agree with them look like they don't know what they are talking about. He had 5 guys come in that thread and tell him he was giving bad advice ... and he had Danny come in on another one and tell him. Maybe he and the H-man should rethink their stance on the whole 'firmware/bios' speech.

Bub, I would not update my BIOS unless I absolutley had to and as I said, I only read the exchange between Alex and OG (I like OG too) I took for granted that the BIOS advice had been given as a last resort, not something to do first. Anyway... I still want everyone to stick around, the good and the bad. The right and the left BECAUSE without both there is no middle and THAT is a lot of what is in the air right now in the bigger picture. Point taken... other post will be edited after thinking it over... BUT I still don't want anyone to leave unless they start to make personal attacks. Thanks Bub, Julien
