Thanks Swizzle. Definitely keep me posted. I'm going to do something in the next couple of weeks or so. It'll be nice to have your input after you get your rig. Let me know what configuration you ordered.

Have you disabled your write cache in SONAR?

Yes, Ryan (at Cakewalk support) made sure that was disabled early on. I think we've exhausted all means at this point. There's just something about that motherboard that doesn't agree with the VS 700R or something in Sonar.

Audiodog...I sense your frustration.  I know you'd rather be makin music instead of fooling with this stuff.  It does appear that the motherboard in your Dell just doesn't want to play nice with Sonar.  I know of some others using Dell with little or no major problems; it just may be the particular motherboard they put in yours.  Jeff Evans previously mentioned 2 motherboards that are proving to be very stable with Sonar and i7 processors (Asus and Gigabyte).  Should a new PC be your final solution, Sweetwater uses Asus in their PC systems and PCAudioLabs uses Gigabyte in theirs.  As I mentioned in a previous post, my PCAudioLabs unit is scheduled for delivery next Thursday or Friday and I'll post my experiences with it soon thereafter.  In the meantime, hope you solve the problem; I'm sure you don't want to spend more money on another PC.
