same here...and the update thing didnt work for me either..i ran the 32 bit first...then the 64 bit....it lshows up and you can see it..but it wont load..

Are you running both 32 bit AND 64 bit sequencers?  If not then uninstall the 32 bit version, you don't need it.

im sorry dave what do you mean sequensers??and thank you for your help sir.

I meant versions of SONAR.  If you are only running SONAR X1 64 bit, there is no need to install the 32 bit version of EZdrummer anymore.  If you are keeping a 32 bit version of SONAR on your computer then you need to install both versions.  I have SONAR 8.0 32 bit installed just for 32 bit testing purposes.

I'd like to eliminate the 32 bit version of EZdrummer from running for test purposes for your problem.  All you have to do is to rename the x86 installation as ezdrummer.bak.  Do that and then see if the 64 bit version loads up properly.

Your problem is likely that the 32 bit version of EZdrummer is running in both 32 and 64 bit versions of SONAR.  We can post about what's working or not for the next few days but it's not going to get us any closer until we eliminate everything that might be a factor.

If you have installed EZdrummer properly then we have to figure out why SONAR x64 is loading the 32 bit version of EZdrummer.  SONAR x64 will look for a 64 bit version of a plugin if it is available and choose it over a 32 bit plugin if both versions are named the same.  It's making the wrong decision.  We need to take the 32 bit option away and see if SONAR will load the 64 bit version of EZdrummer.  If it does then we need to work on the SONAR side of the situation.

I will try the renaming of the 32 bit dll today.  I think that is the best thing to do.  According to EZD, the 32 bit version has to be installed before installing the 64-bit version.  When I uninstalled the 32-bit version, then tried to uninstall the 64-bit version (so that I could reinstall), I got a message saying that I couldn't uninstall the 64-bit version until I reinstalled the 32-bit version.  This thing is acting like a patch instead of a true update.

Also, all of the graphics and sound files are in the 32-bit program folder.  There is nothing in the 64-bit program folder except the dll, which I am assuming is the 64-bit dll.

Regardless of how this works out, thank you for all of your help.

That is interesting and something I never have considered.  I have all my SONAR versions set up to run in administrator mode so I never have a choice.  I am going to try some testing tonight.

THANK YOU!!!!! I right clicked Sonar 64 shortcut, ran the program as administrator and low and behold, EZD is working.

I looked all through properties though and don't see where I can set X1 as run as administrator.  Where is that within properties?

Thanks for all the hand-holding,

Tom
