Anybody in the UK know where I get a PCR 800. All I see is the new model. Cannot find one not even on ebay. Must be still old stock about?

As of now, I still haven't even had a reply on the Roland forum, and the 'expert' who answered me at JustAnswer was a mile off.

Thanks guys for sharing all this info. After reading and re-reading this thread, I decided to do the upgrade. The hardest part for me was peeling back the sticker. Everything else went just as planned and the upgrade was complete in about a minute. But having this thread made the decision to upgrade realistic in that if something did go wrong, the advice here would have solved it. I can't tell if the upgrade did anything, but it is accomplished.

I recall having this problem with no solution in sight. What I did was (realizing that the PCR was only compatible with XP). I booted up my old PC and updated the PCR through XP. That did the trick for me. I'm going to give this other method a try with my Win8 machine (it is x64 too).
Kind regards, Living Room Rocker

Reviving an old thread for two related questions: I have a PCR-800 and it works great for ACT, but as usual, a new product comes out and the old one's support is dropped, which leaves me "wanting": 1. Is there any way to control the functions of the transport buttons while it's in ACT mode? I'd like the play button to be a play/pause toggle with the stop button being a stop and return to where I started button - you know: space and ctrl-space. 2. Is there a 64 bit version of the PCR editor program? Of course, the A-800 has a 64 bit version, but not the pcr. I have the 32 bit, but it just disappears on launch after selecting the midi port - no error, no crash, etc. I'd like to be able to program the "pads" as midi notes or other things that are non-ACT, but it's a bit of a pain to do from the front panel. I realize I could do a virtual machine or something but that seems a bit extreme for this one program. Also, in case you didn't know, Windows 8 is a bit different as far as adding Hyper-V machines: once you add the role, your actual machine becomes as virtual machine in the host, which I don't want to do because of possible performance issues with that setup. Thoughts on the 2 things above?

Never mind question 1 above. I got this. If you want to have pause on a pcr-800, you just need to go to the ACT control panel and then adjust the parameters of the L1-L4 buttons to modify them. If you use Stop with Now Time, this will stop and return to start point. Play/Stop will pause in place. Now these transport controls work like I want them to. Don't know how I missed the L1-L4 options. Still interested in the 64 bit version of the PCR editor... I wrote this up so it could be found in a search later as well. Hope this helps someone.

Hi All, Not too sure if this thread is still active, but if so I would be very grateful for any tips as to how to get the Soniccell editor VST working with ACT via an Edirol PCR-800. (Or, as has just come back to me, did I read somewhere that this no longer works under Windows 7?) Many thanks indeed.

Hi. I have the Sonic Cell hardware working with a PCR-800 including parameter control but I have never managed to get the VST to work properly. I think it's because I run a 64-bit system. I eventually gave up but if I ever get time I may well have another crack at it.

Thanks FastBikerboy. If anyone could tell me how individual cells for sliders and rotaries can be selected & populated (seems much easier for Buttons) - I would be grateful! (In the ACT properties screen , there are three columns for Buttons, but only two columns for Rotaries and Sliders??) Also some cells are Blue and others Green?
