If the argumnet for taking away some of the previous flexibility is to get folks to make music and not tinker with colors; why give us any choices at all? Why cripple a past feature, it annoys me that this is being done with quite a few things.

For 20 years I've gradually had more and more cusotmization scope to make it look and work how I want (and thta's been a feature of SONAR and one of my reasons for staying with it) then bang I have to have it look and work how Cakewalk want.
It means I now have to work the way the guys do in the cakewalk office - that'd be fine if I did the same work but I don't think it quite works that way.
Taking a lot to get hold of this version. 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. And so we continue

If anyone wants to move to another popular/powerfull DAW due to X1's lack of color options then ----  oops - you can't change that DAW's colors either!

Lets see, Which powerful DAW can I choose that allows me to make it look like a tinker toy?  hmmmm  I suppose I'll have to downgrade my DAW.  At least I'll have my colors.

I am voting against the colors that they "baked" in

That makes me go pfffffffffffffffffffttttttttttttttt!!!!  Some people (me) have issues with their eyes and while staring at a screen for hours some colors can make their eyes tire faster than others or strain more than others.

Please bring back being able to change all the color schemes.

Agree totally (& also having eye-issues)  - the presets makes the (IMO) otherwise awesome X1 look like that kube-thing.
I´m contemplating whether to revert to 8.5 or try to make X1 work for me anyway....

Bring back the colour-options!!!!!!

X1 colors look bland and it takes longer to find things. I would have thought that if they left the 8.5 color as an option then people would get used to X1 much faster.

X1 color sucks!

Sarcasam sucks!

It's pretty much the worst looking thing, isn't it though?  Looks like an early prototype that was meant to be designed later on - but they ran out of time or something.  Depresses me to look at it for long.

bump just in case bakers are watching.  no folder indents also? looks like determining track types is non existant unless you read each track name.  :<

+1 for color options. Grey is depressing. Thanks to Panu for injecting some color!
