Very nice. I like it so much I might have to steal that progression.... with a different groove of course.

Stunning music.

The only part I didn't like followed the part I really really liked, and that was the change over around 2:38... that was cool and promised a huge climax in the music... then.... triplets? Huh? What?  Sorry... just a personal preference, nothing more... aside from that, and a few notes that didn't fit.... BEAUTIFUL PIECE!

You like my progression?  Well, that's quite flattering.  Thank you!  :)  I wish I knew where that opening riff came from.  Well, I just hope I didn't steal it.

You don't think the triplets are big?  Hmm...we've clearly got different tastes.  I guess I knew that already though.  Anyway, I'm glad you liked most of it.  :)

hey Janet and Rik - another great one from two very talented people!!!

the piano sounds heavier on reverb than the nylon, tho and seems "dark" or lacking in the high end.  other than that I love this!  wonderful piece both of you!

Thank you very much, Elix!  So glad you liked it.  :)

Thanks, Reece.  I think my piano always sounds dark cause I don't like it sounding bright.  But since Jim thinks it's a great mix, I hate to touch anything now.  :)

Thanks Greg.  :)

Beautiful! Sounds like you've grown quite a bit as a player/composer. I hate to be the wet blanket but I still think the guitar placement could be improved upon. Feels a hair too upfront and close, and possibly a db or 2 loud in spots. It didn't stop me from enjoying it though. Absolutely love the climax/crescendo. This might be my favorite piece I've heard of yours.

Song is pleading to be in a soundtrack.

Hi Janet & Rik. I love this.

I EQ'd it to brighten it up a little, and I could hear the faintest hint of another instrument in there besides the Piano and Guitar when I did that.

What did you have in there?

Thanks so much, Ed.  It's one of my favorites too.  :)  I hear ya about the mix.  I just got some real studio monitors and I'm itching to try to mix a song with them...still waiting on some proper cables.  But the few seconds I heard today (with just one of them working) made me realize this could be a whole lot of fun!  :)

Thanks so much, Radio!

Thanks Bub.  It's one of Ivory's synths.  I had it way too loud before and moving back and forth...got tired of that, so I probably turned it down way too much.  At least it's not in the way though.  :)  I'll work on it more once I get the monitors working right.

Thanks so much, Kaushal.  We're so glad you like it!  :)

finally got the stars and planets to align...and Soundclick worked! the playing in this one is beautiful! the recording of the guitar is one of the best i have heard. the piano is a bit muffled, i'd like to hear it more open, but i understand that if that were the case, it might be competing in the same sonic space as the guitar...it just sounds a little lo-fi in comparison to the absolute clarity of the guitar. which is a shame as it hides more wonderful playing by you. love the change-up at 2'40...this is extremely beautiful and sympathetic songwriting, and was definitely worth the wait!

Wow, beautiful!  Excellent piano performance by Janet, as usual.  The guitar work by Rik is fantastic.  Great job guys!  It feels like the instruments are dancing with each other - very cool!

Glad the stars aligned for you, Mark...and that you tried again.  So glad that you liked it.  :)  You're not the only one that doesn't like the eq on that piano.  I'm going to have to roll up my sleeves and see what I can do about that thing!  :)  Thanks again!

Thank you, Gary.

Thank you, Luke, and good to see you again.  I never know what will come back when I ask someone to play on a tune of mine.  I was quite tickled with how this one turned out.  :)

Really nice job on this from you both.  The "airy" pad in the left channel is a tad distracting.  It sounds great but maybe placed odd.  Might need spread or centered to match the other 2 instuments.  Love the song.  Worth spending some time on.

Janet,

You know i have been a fan of your music for a long time, and some of the best tracks i've heard have come from you.

but............................................................................................................................................. To be honest, This has to be the best you have composed. I was dumbstruck listening to this.

I don't know how i missed it the first time around, but i'm so glad i've found it now.
I'm not sure how many mixes i missed, but there are no problems with muddy pianos or bright guitars for me.

The playing by both of you is mesmerizing. One fantastic piece of music.

I enjoyed it so much, many times, and will listen to it often.

Mark.

Thank you, Bret. Rik did another remix of this and left out the pad. I just need to take time to upload that one. :) Thank you, Mark. Wow! I really appreciate that. I only hope I can follow it up somehow with something nearly as good. :)
