Yeah, I got the email today also:

"Until December 31, we are running a Holiday Sale in the online FabFilter web shop, offering 25% discount on all plug-in bundles. In addition, if you already own one or more FabFilter plug-ins, your online FabFilter account* also offers an extra discount during the Holiday Sale."

This will be my first Fabfilter buy--have been waiting for this sale as bitflipper has high praise for these!  I have loved their tutorials.  The discounts are for bundles only.  So for future reference, what are discounts offered to previous customers when it states: "if you already own one or more FabFilter plug-ins, your online FabFilter account* also offers an extra discount during the Holiday Sale."   Can these be applied to individual plugins?

For this year, I am trying to decide between the Mixing bundle and the Pro Bundle.  I already have some great limiters by UAD-2 (LA2, LA3, 1176), Oxone 4 and T-Racks's Deluxe with a great brickwall limiter, and I wonder if the Pro-L Limiter is an absolutely must have--it is not in the mixing bundle which does contain Timeless 2, which looks like a very cool/nice delay.

Mixing Bundle (with Timeless) or Pro Bundle (with Pro-L), which should I get?

Come on Bitflipper let me know what you think!

Should note that returning customers get a break, too. Go to your account page and you'll see that the quoted price (based on the number of other products you've bought) for individual plugins has also been reduced. Not by a whole lot, but at least a little: on my list Timeless had gone from a 22% discount to a 26% discount.

I've been waiting for this one, since I missed the July sales. How can I go about this... now that I just got the Softube bundle without permission from my Boss... and lived through it. I can't think straight anymore. The urge is taking over. But I need an iron clad reason.

And it's my understanding that you can be "referred" by an existing customer for an additional discount. Who would be the kind soul to help a new plugin addict out?

I very much like the Softube stuff ( I have the TSAR1 and the Trident A-Range...and would dearly love to have the CL1B)  but if a feller had the ProQ, ProC, ProL and ProG plus Timeless and Volcano from FabFilter, he would have a very very powerful tool kit.  FabFilter...especially the Pro series is as good as you can get.  Period.

If you're referred by an existing customer you'll get an additional 10% off, and referrer gets a $14 credit. PM me your email address and I'll send you an invitation.

Knew I should have waited a month.

Bought Pro-L & Pro-C in November, and could have had Pro-Q as well now for less £££'s.

it's not even a case of that.. even more than ever pro audio companies know our money is gonna go elsewhere maybe. what'd be great if more staggered them , so it's throughout the year. Some other companies have messed me about this year, so they won't get my money now (it made it easier TBH).

I emailed to ask about a bundle/ referral email , if that works and Bit gets something also, it's win win. I'll hopefully get a reply later, I'll post back once I know.

    Got referred 2011/12/13 22:39:04 (permalink)
    Bitflipper.  Got the referral.  Thanks.

When I click on the referral link, it takes me to the Christmas sale page.  So, I suspect that the 10% is not in addition to the 25% off the Christmas sale, but I could be wrong.  Perhaps during non-sales, the referral link directs one to a 10% off page.

I will purchase one of the bundles for sure.  Not going to pass such highly praised plugins this time.  I was somehow clueless when the July specials were offered--won't happen this time.

    Again,  Thanks

My account page on the FabFilter site still reads as follows:

"...spread the word! Your friends will get a 10% discount on any FabFilter plug-in or bundle."

There are no weasel words like "* off list price only", or "not in December". So unless they're so callous as to renege on a published offer (something that is surely illegal in the consumer-friendly EU), it looks as though you are indeed entitled to that additional 10 percent discount.

BTW, if you have FF products or are just thinking seriously about getting some, be sure to check out the company's outstanding video tutorials. Actually, they're probably worth a view even if you have no interest at all in FF products.

Here's the newest addition, a mastering tutorial in two parts:
    Part One
    Part Two

Bitflipper:  Thanks again for your post here.

So, I tried the link again.  It took me yet again to the same Hoilday Discount sale page.  So I thought "maybe it will give me the extra 10% when I check out."  That sometimes is where vouchers or coupons or discount codes are entered for other sites like Waves.  So I selected my bundle (Fx bundle--why not), entered my name, address, credit card, etc.  Then clicked "continue" and went to final payment confirmation page, and it still has only the 25% off with no extra 10%.  The next click at the bottom is to "complete purchase".  So, I aborted the payment for the moment.

Please know that I am not in anyway challenging you; I am most sincerely grateful for your offer and for your referral.  Thanks again.  I just do see the "10%" anywhere along their checkout process.

I am definitely going to bite the bullet and buy a Fab bundle, but I have some time (until Dec 31st), and I think I am going to email Fabfilter and ask.

I will report back for all of us.  It might help others decided how much they can get. (I'll go for the FX bundle if I get the extra 10%, but probably only the Pro bundle if not).

Wow sorry I missed the posts about the referrals. I pulled the trigger on the Effects pack to get all of the Pro line plugs in addition to the timeless 2 and Volcano 2 plugs. Been playing with the EQ so far this morning. Oh my God!!! It is just so amazingly easy to use. The interface design these guys have come up with is sheer genius. Outstanding piece of work.

I did spend a bunch of time viewing the videos they put together and that was what had originally convinced me to get this stuff but actually using it is really a very very positive experience. This is a stark contrast to the misery I had debugging issues with the Softube PC mix pack plugs. The installation process for the software was absolutely straightforward and stuff just plain works and works well out of the gate.

    Happy camper here so far.

That's disappointing, and surprising from such a well-respected company. They should have updated their website to say the referral program has been suspended during the sale.

Are you sure it is suspended? After I purchased my bundle I got an email that definitely said I would get some referral bonus and any referral would get an additional discount. I didn't have anyone refer me nor have I referred anyone so I can't comment on whether it actually works but they are communicating this.

Have you had a confirmation from Fabfilter that this is the case? Mind you, I just purchased the "Mixing Bundle" as I wasn't going to miss this special. I'm also seeing the exchange rate becoming less favorable for me (CDN $) this week, and I don't see this changing direction any time soon... who knows. And "Cecilius2" is correct in that their is no option to specify the discount during the purchase process.

On the other hand, I'm also disappointed for you, as you certainly deserve your discounts for all the referrals you made. I can understand if I don't get an additional 10% during a sale, but the referral discount should apply regardless. And for good form, Fabfilter should have a clear and easily accessible message concerning the "suspended referral discounts" during ongoing sales.

Still very happy for my purchase.

Note: Thanks Bit. for taking the time, hopefully you can salvage those referral discounts.

FabFilter sort of cleared up the referrals mystery. Here's what they said:

During the holiday sale, you get the maximum of the 10% referral discount and the 25% bundle discount, so that is still 25% on bundles. When you click the link to the shop, you see that the normal plug-ins are discounted 10% because of the referral discount.

So I read that as you don't get an extra 10% on bundles, but you do on individual plugins. I think it should read "you get the greater of the 10% referral discount OR the 25% bundle discount". It's OK, they're not native English speakers.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Oh, so you're getting your referral bonuses? Cool, that's good news. Feel better now.
