Fog

eli from groove3 sounds like woody allen

This might explain the avatar he has on the old Logic User Group forums.  One very knowledgable fellow he is, by the way.

Well shoot!  They got me by the short hairs, that's for sure.  Damn them fellers at Fabfilter.  Always the best.  Where's my dang credit card.  Gawl dern it!!

PS:  Where'd you see the "March 8th" release thingy?  I don't see it on the site.

ANother amazingly great plugin from the Fabbers indeed.  I checked out the demo and bought it immediately.  Well worth it too, imho.

bapu, try watching the video with the sound up :).. I'm using it partly to make sounds not so purty, and a bit gritty.

I must say I was seriously impressed by the demo video.  This plug-in looks like it may be the coolest thing FF has come up with yet.

But the price ... oh, my!  This is a bit out of the budget range of your typical computer music hobbiest who probably already has a small collection of distortion tools to begin with.

I'd be willing to bet that if FF cut their prices in half, they'd at least quadruple their revenue.  I'd buy Saturn in a heartbeat if it was in the neighborhood of $75.

My price ended up at 104.  Log into your FF account if you have one and see what discounts are made available to you.

This is def one of the best saturation plugins out there imho.

Sounds a bit posh for Sheffield

Well, James, it seems the only logical thing to do would be to pedal on down the road to Mr. Worrall's place of business, knock on the door and resolve the mystery once and for all. We'll be waiting for your report.

I had no idea how close he actually was - I pass there every day on my way to work, and grew up 5 minutes away from there!

The other irony - I was actually in Mancester when I sent the first message :)

Strange that I should happen upon this Fabfilter thread since I was pondering how I might be way better off with a Fabfilter package of plugs than Ozone. And seeing that Bitflipper is a fan is a sign of something seriously interesting, because he does appear to do his homework when it comes to audio software. [As do many others here, too]

Windows 7 64 bit, Sony Vaio Laptop Q740, 8 GB, Sonar Producer X1d, Focusrite Scarlett 18i, Korg Pa500, M-audio 61 Radium Keystation. Using Omnisphere, Trilian, Komplete 8, Morphestra, Orchestral Essentials, Evolve, Orange Tree Guitars, Addictive Drums, BFD2, Melodyne Editor, Studio One 2, Ozone 5, FabFilter.

Every single plug from FabFilter is simply the best out there IMHO.  I've said it before and I'm sure I'll keep on saying it.  I wish I had been able to buy these plugs before I'd bought any others...I'd have saved a boatload of money.

I'd probably have this one, too, if not for the timing. Saturn was announced the same day I blew my entire software budget on Omnisphere. Anybody need a keyboard player for a few weekend gigs?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Re:FabFilter Saturn MB Sat 2012/03/14 20:57:47 (permalink)
i tried their stuff ....the entire day !!

Well , extremely powefull , but i spent 15 minutes on timeless to make a delay (can't stop expereimenting) , good for fun , bad for mixing speed ....the Pro L is wiked , the only that can deal with it is the Sonnox , the PRo C m/s mode is what i love (use to use the puigchild) , but this one is more versatile ...the gate is cool but no way near Dynamite (softube) , the eq is good but i find tweaking in Heq quiker  ....

Well can you guyz tel me how the pro L compares to the CS limiter ?

Like their filters , their synth also , excellent pludins for sound design , but sometime to .... to much

I have all of those, I really like their stuff, now I need to learn how to tweak it... The cool thing is there are lots of good vids on youtube about how to use their stuff? I'm going to pick-up Saturn and use all of my FF plugs on my next project (a CSN cover). There are a few folks who's mixing skills I really respect on the songs forum, I want to aim for a hat tip from them. Not sure I can do it? But a girl can dream? If you have all of the good tools, there's no excuse for producing a $h!ty mix...
