Face palm! All stock Anderton FX Chain Presets are DOCUMENTED!

Due to a post by scook in the "Monitorizer missing"  thread (http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3361937), I decided to take a look at what actually sits in the FX Chain Presets folder (mine is located at: C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR Platinum\FX Chain Presets). While confirming the location of the Monitorizer preset, I noticed an .RTF file (Rich Text Format). Turns out, there's one in each Anderton Collection subdirectory. Each Read Me is named after the directory it's in, for example, "DJ ReadME.rtf" in the DJ directory. And what do they contain? Why, a description and usage notes for each chain in the subdirectory!

Note that the thread title mentioned "stock." The Monitorizer preset, for example, is not included. It is documented in the Kingston Update e-Zine (page 11), although it would be really nice and consistent to add that info to the "Processors ReadMe.rtf" file. Here's a link Craig's posting of the same info (http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3328217). I've added this info to the ReadMe file. If it gets overwritten, hopefully it will include the Monitorizer.

Edit: There's also a single ReadMe in the CA-X Amps Producer directory that covers all of the amp sim FX.

Thanks. I haven't mucked with much of those chains but was going to as soon as I got a chance. I love manuals/tuts.

For some bizarre reason reading up on things makes them work better.

I highly recommend following Craig's steps to make the LIFTER effect chain. The instructions are in one of the Friday tip o' the weeks I believe. It's a great chain for the master bus.

I usually use my dad's old water witching sticks..  But....holding the sticks over the computer does not work as (water) well.

I have two :

CA-X Amps ReadMe.rtf
CA-X Acoustic Piezo ReadMe.rtf

[I'm also one who really enjoys reading manuals, but paper, so I usually print them]

I initially had a lot of problems with these FX chains not installing correctly. With a bit of help from Craig and support I was able to get a workaround that sorted them out and let me use them. Sometime during either the F, G, or H update the issue was fixed and now they install and work as intended.
The upshot of this was that I spent quite a bit of time using and reading up on exactly how to use these FX, including reading all the read-me's. I don't use these FX a lot, but I now know they are there and have a fair understanding of what each one sounds like.
Just goes to show you if you (or me at least) spend the time reading, using and learning these functions, it's definitely time well spent.

Ahhh, right you are. The second one is in the Acoustic Piezo subdirectory.
