Well.... I had actually listened to this a few days ago.... but refrained from commenting.

So on this, the second listen, and in a different (better) frame of mind.... While not my favorite tune from you, I do appreciate the superb musicianship and engineering chops that you so obviously put into this.

It reminds me of some of the great soul masters of the 60's and 70's..... horns and all.

Good job on this tune guys.

James,

I missed this one.  What a great job on this.  Good song.   The horns are spectacular and I like the overall arrangement.  Mix is outstanding as usual.   This sounds like it could work in a Bond film, I also hear some Steely Dan in there as well..   Good stuff, and Cian rocked the vocals.
Regards

Wow!  James this is just awesome!! Where do I start?  The lyrics are so catchy for this genre.  Kudos for writing a song that just hooks you in from the very beginning.

I've had to listen to this a few time as I'm just so liking this.  Cains vocal is just perfect for this song.

Now about the arrangement.  You did an awesome job on the brass section.  This is so difficult to pull off and, as a brass instrument player myself, you did this justice.  My only crit is that I was waiting for a screaming Organ or Sax solo.  I agree that, IMO, the organ should be more prominent for this tune.

AWESOME JOB!!

Tony, Mark Clean, Herb:
Thanks for the kind words.

Markno:
The spoken break is a total Steely Dan ripoff; glad it wasn't so noticeable that you were the only one to spot it.

Rich:
The articulations with the Kontakt horns are great, and getting to know them (since I just got the software for Christmas) has opened up a world of possbilities. Glad I took those three sax lessons when I was 19!
