Favorite Acoustic Guitar songs

Acoustic dominant, anyway, doesn't necessarily have to be ONLY acoustic.

I'll start with:

Kansas - Dust in the Wind

i7, 16G DDR3, Win10x64, MOTU Ultralite Hybrid MK3
Yamaha MOXF6, Hammond XK3c, other stuff.

    Hi,

Mike Heron -- and you can catch his original "Oh, Carol" or "Singing the Dolphin Through" ... or so many other things he did with the Incredible String Band.

Sandy Denny -- too many pieces to list.

Roy Harper -- too many pieces to list.

Peter Hammill -- too many pieces to list.

Bob Dylan -- the whole "Blonde on Blonde" album ... still one of the best ever!

Roger Waters -- pretty much all his solo albums have a lot of his own accoustic guitar work.

    Gaudette--Steeleye Span

I wanted to add some Fairport Convention ... and Reynardine came to mind ... but dang it ... that's Richard Thompson on Electric, not accoustic ... but we could always settle for a couple of other songs elsewhere.  I specially like his live versions of "Calvary Cross" and "Night Comes In" from the album "Live, More or Less" ... but that's not as accoustic as we would like it here in this discussion ... but that bass playing on both of those pieces is one of the prettiest things I have ever heard. Sorry Bapu!

This is a loaded question, have any of you heard Tyranosaurus Rex, "My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair But Now They Are Content To Wear Stars On Their Brow" and the follow up Prophets, Seers and Sages, The Angel of The Ages"  These are posibly the maddest and greatest acoustic albums ever I don't think anyone comes close to the primal anarchistic playing that Marc Bolan does on these two albums and who could forget Steve Peraguin Took, the percusionist, oh and speaking of accoustic albums who could forget Electric Warrior, although not all acoustic, it still has some really cool acoustic songs, like Mambo Sun, Cosmic Dancer, Girl and Planet Queen.

    Peace

I do The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down on acoustic and about half of the Eagles: Desperado album on acoustic. I like to do Scoth/Irish folk sounding instrumental original stuf on acoustic.

I one heard a quote by a prominant (at the time) rocker whom I cannot now remember who said that if a song cannot be played on acoustic it is no good. Most songs are written on either acoustic guitar or piano.

No I don't believe in linking to copyright material but if you want to check out some of the tunes just go to YouFool (Youtube) and punch in Tyranosaurus Rex and you will find the tunes there, try Dwarven Trumpet Blues, that is a cracker.

It's a bit sad T-Rex, he never took of in the states all because of David Cassidy, "I think I love you you"
