Feel Your Love Tonight (Van Halen Cover) REMIX 1/14/13

Another Van Halen Cover from VH1  featuring Robby on lead vocals, backing vox and bass.   I programmed drums, played guitar and mixed.   We did Dance The Night Away from VH2 a couple months ago and had so much fun we decided to do another VH song.  Hope you enjoy it.  Comments are welcome.

    I'm a HUGE VH fan...and I like this...

    Vocals are really kewl...

I'd get the guitar a little more "in yer face" like VH was/did..
    but really nice job....

your link takes me to a page with me and several other artists on it. You're not there. Another reason I hate Sound Cluck.

Excellent cover, Guys.  Robby steps out of ballad mode to rock a bit, and rock he does!  The vocals are outstanding, and so were the track and production.  Great job by both.

That was the Alembic, Mark still had to "do stuff to it" after I did my best performances (after practicing for a week) and comped it, then I re-recorded some of the comped parts, etc... but he's one of the mix master "wizards" you know who you are. I'm not that guy...

Excellent cover song.  It was a little heavy in the left channel, but otherwise, OK.

Thank God for SoundCloud! Very good job by both of you on this. Nice job on the vocals and bass, Robby! Mark, you pretty much have the VH guitar nuances down pat. That was a good listen!

+1 on the lead guitar. I'd like it to be a bit more present, but otherwise great job.

Awesome playing and tone. Robbie knocked it out of the park too. I agree a bit left heavy though.

Larry - Thanks for the listen,  I think I may have lost a little presence when rendering down to 128Mbps and posting on Soundclick.  The guitar is much more distinct on my mix.  I may have to tweak it a little bit to account for this.

Robby - Glad you are happy with the mix.   Glad you nailed the vox;)

Janet - Appreciate the comment.  Great thing about this forum is collaborating with others and expanding your skills through constructive feedback.   Most invaluable.

Phil - Thanks.   Yes, I don't know how he goes from that ballad thing to these rock songs but it works.   Kind of a chameleon in that regard.

Ed - Thank you.   Appreciate the listen and pointing out the issue with the bass player;)

Frank - Thanks for the listen.

Lynn - Thank you.  I did notice the heavy left channel issue.   I tried to mix this like the old VH but it is about 1.5db hotter on the left side.   When adjusting it the thing kind of lost its' mojo so I left it that way.

Scott - Thx    I have always been a big VH fan and fan of Eddie's style of playing.   I personally find it easier to capture his style when I have his tone dialed in.  PodFarm 2.5 has some excellent VH presets and I have made a few of my own as well.    That really helps, otherwise it would be pretty tough to capture.

Thomas - Thx.  I need to tweak it a little to adjust for the SoundClick render.

Tim - Thanks for the comment even though it's not your cup of tea.   Big fan of your mixes so appreciate it.

Grant - Thank you for the listen.    Appreciate it.

Excellent cover. Agree with others that the lead could be bumped up a bit. Harmonies sounded a little loose, but the lead vocal is a ringer for sure.

Sounds like you all had a blast!

Would rarely listen to it but certainly well done. That guitar riff makes it enjoyable for me along with Robby and those answering vocal sections.

Always gonna expect decent production from you Mark.

Several people suggested bumping the guitar a little bit.   Here is a remix of with a bit more gain and presence on the guitar part.   Everything else is the same... hopefully I didn't break anything in the mix.

I like the original mix best :-)

I thought there were plenty of guitar presents? Lots of nice riffs? Good tone on the rhythm? Lots of presents!

And that singer? He kicks ass!!
