Volume reset in Kontakt2.2????

Hey everybody

When I use KOntakt2.2 to import samples inside Sonar 5p, the volume fader in K2 will always reset to the same level, even though I am able to change it.

I reckon it has something to do with "midi out" in Sonar, but I am not sure how to turn this "volume reset" off. It´s a big problem when working with multis.

Any ideas?

thanks

Mathias

I believe it is a "feature" in Kontakt. I have noticed that even though it respects volume envelopes and specific CC7 events, it won't allow the sequence to raise the volume above -6db. You can manually raise it higher during playback, but when you start the next playback it will drop back to -6db. And if you insert a volume (CC7) event into the sequence, it will not raise the volume beyond that point regardless of the MIDI data value.

This was just one reason I have retired Kontakt.

Instrument options > controller in Kontakt. There you can set the volume range for the MIDI CC7. There's also a setting for default volume (new instruments and reset) in main options > audio engine, set it to 0dB.

Also, in Sonar options > project > MIDI out uncheck "zero controllers on stop". HTH

Thanks for that tip, dreamkeeper. Maybe I'll give Kontakt another chance.

At risk of drifting off topic, I've always wanted to sample my own voice doing oohs and aahs and stuff like that so that I could easily drop them into a song later. Ever done that?

    Hey guys

Thanks for helping - but I think I have solved the problem.

I tried to uncheck uncheck "zero controllers on stop, but it didn´t help. However, I found that if I changed the volume slider on the Midi Tracks (inside Sonar), the volume in Kontakt did the same.

It guess it is pretty obvious, but it works.
