Anyone using a studiomix?

Im wondering if anyone here is still using a studiomix control surface. There used to be a place you could order an eprom upgrade to get it to resolve at 14 bit instead of the 7 bit it uses for the faders and rotaries. Any info would be helpfull. Ive been trying to get rid of it for a while but cant find anything I really like any better for under $1000. Ive been looking at the new Mackie Universal pro, If anyone is using that Id like to hear how you like it. Thanks!

Have you taken a look at the AlphaTrack from Frontier Design? I recently got one and I love it so far. Granted it only provides one fader, but it also has many other controls and takes up very little space on the desk. Switching between tracks is very simple. You can either do it from the unit or you can also click with the mouse to select a track, which then changes the AlphaTrack to that track. I currently have my mouse in one hand and the other hand on the AlphaTrack and I can mix just as well as if I had a full console in front of me.

Yes...His name is Oliver Dahlmann and the site is www.sonicware.de. It is NOT easy to program though, as you need to understand MIDI hex values to get the most out of it. But once I got it setup, it ROCKS!
