So, are you living with the limitation or did you give up and try a different audio interface? I am looking at this unit because I am about to make the jump to Vista 64 and I want to go USB. The RME unit is out of my price range.

Thanks for the update

Johnol, take a look at my 4/11 post above [Post #: 17] above where I summarized the problems you can expect using Vista 64 with a Firewire mkII. Based on the responses of others, it's likely that additional limitations will apply to the USB mkII.

I'm using the WavesRT drivers and having no trouble getting the buffer settings down to the current minimum [96 samples] With Vista x64. Works fine. With the WavesRT drivers, just slide the little slider near the bottom of the Options/Audio General Tab all the way to the left.

I looked at post 17 and this is what I focused on. Are you saying the WavesRT drivers solved your problems with
vista 64? or is there a reason you would rather have the original motu drivers?

Using WavesRT solved the problem. The WavesRT drivers seem to work fine. The I/O is arranged strangly with the ADAT I/O split into two groupes of 4; but all the I/O is there and labeled correctly which isn't true for ASIO. The strange arrangement means that you will need to revise your project templates and move I/O assignments around on existing projects.

My main remaining complaing [other than wanting to use ASIO] is that MOTU have limited the new drivers to a maximum of 48k samples/second and minimum of 96 sample buffer size. So here I am with this ****ing new computer running 64x SONAR and capable of a lot of tracks at 96k samples/second and 32 sample buffer size and I can't do it.

Is there anyone out there who can help me track down a recording latency problem with my 828 mkII on Windows XP 32-bit and the WDM/KS drivers? Using Sonar X1a Build 197 and I have the latest drivers from MOTU (just downloaded them yesterday, my 828 had been in mothballs for a few years).

Basically, it's recording about 200 ms (or more?) "late". Driving me nuts! I can even "see" the delay on the meters.

Cuemix seems to work fine, no latency when I monitor there. I've tried the ASIO drivers: they show no signal at all.

Welcome any and all of your advice!
