64 bits drivers

If I understand, the TonePort UX2 drivers are only 32 bits? . . . Is there a way to use them with a 64 bits system before the summer (the 64 bits drivers should be releashed around this summer)

I also have the old midi/usb interface that came with the USB Music Pack that I bought when I discovered cakewalk products . . . Can I make it work with a 64 bit Vista system?

Ahhh, the joys of a 64bit OS. This is why not too many people are making the jump to 64 yet. No you cant make something work in 64bit if there are no drivers to support it. Someone may know of some 3rd party drivers that may work but I doubt it. You'll most likely have to wait until the drivers are released.

If you have a lot of old stuff, then no, do not go 64 bit. X64 requires all drivers to be digitally signed with a certificate released by MS so there is no way to fool it into using 32bit drivers.

If you are buying newer hardware, and do not plan on upgrading again in the near future, then you will likely want to go x64 now as within a couple of years, x64 will be the defacto standard. If you can wait for the new driver, then wait. That way you wont be buying a new OS in a couple of years.

Stick with 32 bit. Its no big deal and as said, wont be for a couple years.
The plugin/software companies will need a lot of time to catch up to 64 bit.

I have been using the 64 bit install of sonar 6 PE on an AMD 64 duel core running windows 64 Edition XP Pro. My audio is the Motu 828 mkll with the 64 drivers.

There are problems like any setup lets be clear on that, but the advantages to a 64 bit machine far out weigh the 32 bit machine.

Here is a video with Cakewalk sharing some facts

The ram ability alone makes it a much better machine I can throw 2 gig sticks in all 4 slots and XP will see and use them and acording to CW you can go as high as 128 gig of ram WOO!! HOO!!
