Thomas, Your postings have been extremely helpful. I disconnected the M Audio Midisport USB interface and reloaded the PS88 drivers and everything is in order now. I had both the PS88 and the Midisport plugged directly to the computer via USB but the device manager only saw the Midisport. Anyway, that problem is solved. I am currently using Sonar 7. I am also experiencing difficulty with Preset 10. Everything is setup as you instructed in the ReadMe file. I see the PS88 SYSEX message flashing on the controller LCD screen when I load it from Enigma. The ACT, Cakewalk Generic, and MMC plug-ins all show Keystation Pro 88 Preset 10, but the only control I have is transport buttons, pitch and mod wheel, and damper. None of the buttons or sliders do anything. I know this must be frustrating for you as you have spent alot of time putting this together. I will keep experimenting with it, and if I can find a solution, I will post it. Thanks again - dizzywig

I got the volume faders and pans to work using Midi learn, but in the ACT Midi Controller page I only see four rows of controls: B26 thru B33, C1 thru C8, shift B1 thru shift B8, C60, and B2 thru B8. Is there a way to call up the other controllers such as B44 thru B51, C52 thru C59, etc? Thanks again

Hi dizzywig: After you send the sysEx message to the KSP 88 via Enigma. you have to recall preset 10 using the KSP 88 recall button and typing 10 in the KSP 88 numeric pad before the display stops flashing. tHEN WHEN preset 10 IS RECALLED, THE ksp 88 BUTTONS, SLIDERS, AND KNOBS ARE SUPPOSE TO FUNCTION AS EXPLAINED IN THE readme that comes with these setup files. There has been reported problems with these setup files not working for all users as intended. The purpose here was to create setup files that could be shared without a user having to understand how to use the ACT or Cakewalk Generic control surface plug-ins. The ACT is limited in the number of sliders and rotories can be used in one bank. You may want to use the Cakewalk Generic Control surface, but it will take reading on both plug ins to really see what you want to do.

For whatever reason, I can't use this link. It just takes me to the yahoo homepage. Is there any way I could send you and email address privately and you could email me the file? Or is it too big? I'm anxious to try this. Thanks

Hi all: I updated the download link to the setup files, so these files can be downloaded using the link in the first post of this thread. I think I discovered why some are having an issue with these files working as intended. It appears that the transmission of the SysEx message is not correctly sent to the KSP 88 sometimes. One way to check if the transmission was corrupted or not is to (after Preset 10 is recalled) repeatedly press one of the buttons B44 -B51 and C52-C59 (when one of these buttons are pressed, you should only see the value 127 show on the KSP88 LCD Display). If you press one of these buttions repeatedly and see 00 and then 127, that means the SysEx Transmission was unsuccessful or corrupted. I have programmed these buttons to repeat one value of 127, so a toggled value of 00 and 127 is not correct.

Hi guys! I'm so glad I found this thread after a while of Googleing but no real results. First of all I want to be clear that I'm new to all of this, and have no experience/skills concerning this area (for now) and hopefully you will explain things in a simple way :) After reading the previous posts on this thread, I feel a bit small, but I hope some of you could give me a easy explanation/tutorial on how to begin recording music, and using these presets. I have installed KSP 88 driver on my computer, and have CWS 8.5 version ready installed as well. What I am wondering is what else do I need to do to start "my career" (lol) on recording music? Do I need any other software? Is it just to start following the ReadMe file and that should do it? (I also have M-Audio MobilePre USB available) I appreciate every answer, and hope you could take time to teach a newbie how to use the KSP 88 and CWS 8.5. Thanks a plenty!

Hi, The link does not work again. I have a Keystation Pro 88 and using Sonar X2. (Windows 7 64bit 8GB 3.4Ghz) I am having a hard time mapping controllers on the keyboard to work in Sonar Cakewalk. Is there an updated ACT file available? Thank you so much, You can email the files to me if it's easier; wilsonb(AT)POBOX(DOT)com

Sorry to bump an old thread.... just out of curiousity ... when defaulting the pro 88 factory reset.... all the knobs send midi data except for B32... (not sure why?) Can anyone suggest which controller number I could use in order to get it working without duplicating another CC I've changed it once and the rotary does work... so its a midi CC message problem..

Thomas I just want to thank you! Over the years I have tried but always failed to get to the finish line when trying to fully define my KSP. I imagine you may have forgot about this post by now but I found it, followed the directions, and IT WORKS PERFECTLY!! Thanks again!!!

Hi Aaron:
I'm glad to hear that. What version of SONAR are you using?

Wow! Just discovered this thread... still using my ksp for it's 88 keys (actually, 87 as one is dead...the 3rd A# but rarely a problem and have my lx too) I hope to try this over the weekend... It will be awesome to have all the knobs, buttons, and sliders do stuff... I'm way too "my brain doesn't work this way" to every have figured it out. Thanks a zillion, Thomas...

Thomas, I started on CW many years ago when it was still Twelve Tone but used it only as a way to capture ideas to share with my band later. I have now had Home Live 7 for a few years but never really used it till now that I am writing again. I will be upgrading IF there is a good reason. For now it does everything I need. Thanks Again
