New feature wanted for Pro Channel - message to Cakewalk;)

Hello

Firstly, I want to say that I totally love ProChannel and its effect, sounds great.

However, sometimes it would be great to be a little more flexible. As I understand it, you can only set ProChannel in Pre or Post for the whole rack. I would love to see the possibility to arrange ProChannel and 3rd party VSTs in any order I want.

Example:

ProChannel EQ
Fabfilter C - Compressor
Fabfilter Volcano 2
ProChannel Tube Saturation
PSP Vintage Warmer 2

Or am I wrong? Can you actually do as I wan't to already in an easy way (Similar to Logic)

Thanks

That sounds like a pretty reasonable request.

A pretty annoying workaround would be to set it as Pre FX bin, use just the EQ, then add your 3rd party, then route it to a bus, and finish with your ProC saturation then PSP on your bus. It's a little messy, but should work!

This has been discussed a lot and a popular suggestion is a FX Bin module for the Pro Channel - which I really like the idea of.

Send in a feature request. At the moment there's only Mattplaysguitar's suggestion that i know of.

Here's a thread started a while ago to encourage users to feature request an PC insert point that would allow routing out to the FX channel and back again. I even typed out the FR text to copy & paste.

Feel free to use it if that matches your idea. The more FRs there are for a feature the more likely it is to appear, so say CW....

IIRC, Noel himself chimed in on one of those threads... basically, they've heard the request for interoperability (whatever that means to FX bin & PC), and they'll be cooking something up at some point. That being said, it also sounded like a non-trivial bit of engineering involved, so...

    + 1, need improvements. Don't use V-Vocal at all.
I go with Melodyny 4 now. Would love to see an integration of Melodyne as in Studio One;)

IIRC Cake mentioned that there was a possibility of some PC modules being made available as VST's. If enough of them are then we get the flexibility everyone is asking for.... Then Cake does not have to figure out how to route in and out of the PC back to the FX bin which IMHO over complicates the solution. Just my opinion. Carry on.

before that , just a "real" fx bin woulb be appreciated !! i mean more than those stupid 3 fx seen at the same time on the consol view , fx slots as well as send slot is A MUST , not an option !!! ala PT , nuendo , Cubase ...Ect

better VU ( nuendo switchable view from big vu , waves forms ect ....is excellent), monitoring solution , "real multi dock" , not one dock only (this will allow several consoles in one screenset) ...ect ...

    That would be great.

What we need is the ability to put the Pro Channel modules in the FX Bin where they belong, instead of in a proprietary hidden bus environment that alienates 3rd party VST's.

That has to be some kind of record doesn't it Bapu?

    Thanks

Your request is more than OK, but, why on earth you need that many EQ/filters, compressors ans saturation processors in the same chain????its not kind of redundant?

Well, maybe this example was a little extreme, but I just wanted to explain my point:)
However, sometime you may need EQ more than once. I sometimes use the Vintage Warmer to "tighten the channel" better in the whole mix.
