you know that the blues scales will "fit" over ANY chord, key or combo if you know how to use them. I can show any of that stuff and it doesn't take any time cuz you already know them and how you play by hear. Just getting use to where they apply. Ex. Anything in the key of C major or A minor also = E blues scale

Bill, I know the maj and minor pentatonic scales most positions, the blues scale all over the neck, plus the major scale shapes, as well as the natural minor and the harmonic minor.

If a passing note sounds good against the rhythm line, I'll use it.

I'm reasonable OK in understanding how playing various scales over different chords created the various mode, but I don't sit and work stuff out too much, I know I should really - you can only play the same basic solo structure so many times!

My average knowledge does help when I'm right hand tapping though - the triad I create obviously has all the information for the chord and with a bit extra concentration, I can tap in a fourth note as well.

I know I'm still very much at the novice stage with this stuff, but I love learning - especially when it means something sound good!

And I was using multi-tap delays to create chords befor The Edge made his name with them!!
