How Do I....

Greetings... The more I read about the different programs available the more confused I become.
My objective is to record my voice singing. I have a Karaoke/DJ Company here in South Florida and all the equipment to create an awesome sound.

1. What program do I want to buy to record my voice and backing track?

2. Where do I get a list of "Easy to understand" instructions to accomplish this?

Life may not be the party we hoped for, so while we're here we should Dance....AND SING!!!

Any of the Cakewalk programs will do this, unless you intend using MIDI, in which case rule out 'Guitar Tracks'

They all come with a manual, tutorials to work through and help files. I would suggest perhaps starting with 'Music Creator'.

If that's all you want to do, I would suggest googling for a free audio recorder like Audacity. As long as you have some way of getting your karaoke system's output into your computer, then there's no need for you to buy and get involved with anything fancier than that.

If that's really all you want to do, you might even be able to get away with using the sound recorder that comes with Windows. Click the Start button, click Run, type SNDREC32, and click OK.

If the goal is simply to record your voice together with karaoke soundtrack then Audacity will certainly be enough.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

I'm in the Ft Lauderdale / Miami area. I would get the power studio with the included sound card. It might be overkill, but youll have a slew of effects and synths to create an awesome sound as you wanted.
