Getting started.....[plz help]

Hi all,
I know this is a HUGE request but i am new with sonar8 and wanted to get started.
I have gone with the "Getting Started" help at startup with no luck and have gone thru the "SONAR help" with no luck in actually getting a 4track sequence started
I want to rec one vocal trk and 3 vst trks. I have tried the templates but it seems as i am not understanding the whole layout of Sonar8
Please can someone post a step by step tutorial for me on recording a 4trk sequence
My setup is;
motu 828mkII
standard midi controller (getting akai mpk49 next wk) for now
Win XP
thx all

    Greeings el,

    Welcome to the forum!

I want to rec one vocal trk and 3 vst trks.

These are very different and covered in the tutorials pretty good. Since we can't look over your shoulder, but we all have the tutorials, can you try the tutorials and report back that you are having problems with … such-and-such step in such-and-such tutorial …

    Regards,
    David

    *sigh*

That's a big request to do blind. Most of this is setup and routing specific, prolly more of a MOTU question to be honest.

Can SONAR "hear" your audio inputs and can you hear the VST outputs currently? That will help jump right to the meaty part or figure out how far back is needed.

that said, get a reference book (the aforementioned POWER book is generally regarded as the best), do the tutorials, and prepare yourself for a crash course in digital audio.

I have gone with the "Getting Started" help at startup with no luck and have gone thru the "SONAR help" with no luck in actually getting a 4track sequence started

Now you need to go thru the other 15 chapters. Start with recording audio, since that is what you listed in your question. Do you hear any audio yet?? Try the tutorials also, there great. The help file is great also. 3 things, the manual, help file and the tuts.
