CPU Meter - One bar for quad core?

I have a Quad Core PC, the "performance" toolbar shows only 1 bar for CPU usage.  My buddy has the exact same system, his shows all 8 bars in the CPU usage.  Is there a setting that consolidates the bars somewhere?   Thx

There is a "USE MULTI CORE PROCESSOR" toggle in options.

I have "Use Multiprocessing Engine" Checked.  Still showing just one thin line.  If I uncheck that, it shows one Fat line.

Mine shows only the first bar if under a light load but gradually uses all as the load increases.

Yep all cores are enabled.  I thought I read here on the forum there was a setting that consolidated all the Core bars to one.  Anyone know about this?

In your Windows Task manager, how many CPU graphs do you see?  (pls ensure view one graph per CPU is selected under CPU history in task manager).  Do you see 1 or 4?

I reckon its core parking - W7 will force all traffic down one core until it needs another so you wont see much hitting the other cores until you max out the first. It was supposed to be more efficient way to manage power, but its crap for DAWs. There was a registry hack for it posted a while ago and it worked a treat.

I have a 6 core and does pretty much the same. Seems to use the first core more than the rest. However the more I add to the project and more load I create, the other processors get used and the meter shows it.  Have had zero issues related to processingon this machine. And I have created some files with tons of effects/plugins etc.  I would suggest loading your craziest project and take a look at it.

Yep that worked.  I loaded a big file and added 4 more Omnisphere tracks and the other Cores started showing.  Thanks for the tip ; )

If you think Core parking might help as well try here, worth a read.

A quad core should only show 4 bars in the performance section, not 8.

A quad core + HT (hyper-threading) will show 8 threads. Always has in my Win 7 environment.

    Hey,
    Check this! I posted a Quad-core tutorial.

For some reason it wont let me post the link here?

You can go to YouTube and search for my channel called  DofkaTubeChannel

Or  search on YouTube for Cakewalk Sonar Multi-Core, Quad-core CPU help

Look in my videos... It may help.
