If the founding fathers were alive today and saw the gang warfare and violence that is tearing up the inner cities of this country, I am sure that they would agree the 'right to bear arms' is no longer a good idea.

Nonsense.... the 2nd amendment is a individual's right to protect them selves not just from other people intending harm...which is a God given right, but also and specifically from a tyrannical government.

If you think for one minute that taking guns from the citizens will make a country or a city safe, you only need look at Washington DC, and other cities like NYC, Chicago, LA, & SF to see that restrictive gun laws do NOT work. to the contrary, these cities have the highest crime & murder rates by gun and other weapons. However, allow, or in Switzerland's case, require that citizens own guns, and the crime rates drop through the floor.

Just ask your self one question.... Why didn't Hitler ever invade Switzerland? After all it was in the middle of Europe...it was a small country with a good economy, and it has no standing army.... not now...not then. Simple.... his highly trained army was simply no match for an armed citizenry intent on defending their homes and homeland. He never invaded them.

Here in the USA, the lower crime rates tend to coincide with high levels of personal gun ownership in a given area.
