I am running two Q-10's (master slave via SDIF link) running Sonar X-2 on a Gateway Pentium D 630 dual core using the 7.13 driver. Works fairly well but doesn't play well with others. I use the freeze function a lot to conserve CPU load. 16 channels full duplex. Still competes on sound quality with much of the current gear but a bit more cranky to use. New to the forums ....

Ahh, Aardvark. I haven't thought of them for years. My first true audio interface was an Aark 20/20 that I seriously overpaid for through Sweetwater. It lasted several years until one day smoke poured out of it, lol.

Dan

I had an Aardvark Aark 20/20 also. And like Dan, it just decided to fry one day.

Yes, but the aardvark was a beautifully designed system with the quietest pre-amps. I still use my aardvark 24/96 direct pro with sonar 8.5 on an older xp pc. It flat out blows my roland vs-100 on win7 with sonar plat away.

For anyone interested, Aardvark more-or-less turned into Antelope Audio, and their products are fantastic. I use their Orion32 in conjunction with an RME HDSPe MADIfx and it's really nice. Holds up to my Lynx Aurora16 just fine. Their other products are similarly well regarded.

I used a Aardvark 24/96 for about 9 years on a dual core Sony desktop and except for the need of an occasional reboot, it was real solid for me.  The inboard dsp, compression, eq, and reverb sounded nice in the headphones as a monitor mix for vocal mikes. The digital i/o was convenient, patched into an Alesis Masterlink ML9600.  It was an affordable PCI solution in those days.  Worked fine for me on 8.5.
