    Save as type: All Files

This will let you give a plain text file whatever extension you want.

EDIT: Oops. I see you said Wordpad. Use Notepad instead.

"im trying to use my samples in sd3 for hats so they mute eachother out."

Can you elaborate on this? I'm not sure what you mean by "mute each other out".

In addition to the links mudgel offered, I have a small tutorial about making Session Drummer kits posted here:

    http://www.harmoniccycle....09-SessionDrummer2.htm

I haven't spent much time with SD3 but I think the tutorial still applies.

    best regards,
    mike

I wasn't trying to judge good or bad.

I was asking if you were trying to program some sort of "switch" that results in a MIDI note on or off triggering a sequence of events that is more complex than a single sample being played on command.

    Or

I was asking if you were merely trying to replace the existing samples with your favorite hi hat samples.

If it was the former I was going to ask you to elaborate because I thought it sounded interesting and was interested in what you were doing.

    I'm still curious.

    all the best,
    mike

just a simple sound replacement. i used alot of akai stuff back in the day... i didn't think it was gonna be so hard to duplicate an open/close hihat in sd3. kinda bummed that now i gotta learn now.

I think iggy is talking about groups of notes that stop each other. Most common for the three GM MIDI HiHat pitches (pedal, closed, open), where triggering one of them will stop any of the other two sounds.
Eg, triggering the closed HiHat sound will stop a currently playing open HiHat sound.

Sorry can't help actually, but thought I try to clarify the topic (well, at least I hope I am not totally misunderstanding iggy).
