Pentagon 1 - DXi or VSTi?
Does anyone know whether Pentagon 1 as installed by Sonar PE should install as both VSTi and DXi or is it DXi only? I can only find the DXi version (P1DXi.dll) that is installed in \Shared Dxi\... although there is another dll in there too (Pentagon I.dll). Neither of these appears to be a VSTi. I gather from a thread in the Instruments forum that the stand-alone version installs both VSTi and DXi.

Simply put if its not in your VST folder then its not a VSTi.

John - you're up early or maybe late! Thanks for the reply, but you haven't really answered my question. I am interested to know whether there should be a VSTi version of P1 installed on my system. There certainly doesn't seem to be one at the moment. In other words, have I somehow corrupted the installation, or is the VSTi version only available if you buy P1 in its own right?

You have the same as I do. I have no P1 in any VST folder. I see nothing wrong with that. I would think that if you were to purchase it it would come in both versions. Seeing as Sonar is a great DX host there is really no reason for CW to give you and unneeded version.

I only have it as a dxi too, so I guess there is no vsti version.

Thanks, guys. I'll quit worrying and learn to love the DXi.

I assumed it was VST but I may be wrong reading this.

That might explain a mystery I've recently encountered. I downloaded the SAVIHost microhost and got it to successfully launch Rapure, Dim Pro and z3ta+. It would not work for Pentagon I, even though I set it just as I had the three successful ones.

Not necessarily true. I have had some vsti's install in their own folder. Right Sonar does this to all its VSTs all the time, Right? We are talking about a Sonar install. But I shall bite what VST/I installs to its own VST directory?

ORIGINAL: ChristopherM the 2nd. Amendment Why didn't they get it right first time? When the soon-to-be Unites States wrote the Consititution not everything was in there that they wanted. They drafted what is called the Bill of Rights that encompasses the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. This was passed by Congress on September 25, 1789. There have since ben 17 other Amendments added for a total of 27. See this site: http://www.ushistory.org/documents/amendments.htm for a little more detail. Specifically, as posted on the referenced page: Amendment II Right to bear arms A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

ff the top of my head - Vintage Warmer for one. I think Pristine Space did so as well but don't quote me on that. PSP and Voxengo plugs ask where you want to install them unless you don't answer it will take its best guess. PSP stuff comes as both a DX and VST. All DX plugs have to have their own directory unless they are simple and need regsvr32 to install.

I am working in no-DXi compatible DAW. Lately purchased Pentagon one. There is no any suggestion to VST absence. Is there any vsti format to download?
