Midi keyboard problem

I've connected my m-audio oxygen 8 to the laptop with usb and this work fine when I use Absynth as a standalone application.  However, when I try using it through sonar it doesn't work.  I've followed many tutorials but none of them work.  Could someone please tell me what what to do?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shane,

ok..  you have shut down absynth right? if you have it as a stand alone app.. the midi port is already tied up.. so it needs to be off

THEN start sonar.. have a look in the midi menu.. see if your oxygen is listed.. tick it...  you notice a piano icon near the clock.. if you hit a midi key..it'll light up.

then load up absynth as a VST within sonar..

hopefully you have your soundcard set up correctly if not thats the next thing.. the manuals describe all this .
