Sonar "dropouts" after touching MCU faders!

Hi all
I am using the original MCU unit with Cakewalk Sonar 7PE. I have recently been experiencing "dropouts" with Sonar whenever I touch one of the MCU's faders while a project is playing. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the MCU, or Sonar.

If anyone has any information that could help me solve, or troubleshoot this issue pleaase let me know.

Thanks,

Harpo

It is not really possible for the Mackie Control to cause a drop out. Something else is the problem and it is coincidental that the drop out happens when using the MC. The MC is receiving and sending data all the time. I am not saying that what you are experiencing is not happening just it is most likely due to an audio issue or even due to the MIDI driver used.

Maybe an increase in the 2 midi settings in options//global//midi menu in sonar may, i said may, help. They may be set too low for this project. Try 96 and 700 for the 2 setings in there

    Thanks Guys

    Here's something interesting.....

I opened a project that Irecorded a while bac (maybe 6 months ago or so) which has over 12 tracks and this project has no such glitch at all while the project in question has only 4 tracks! Go figure!?!?!

I e-mailed Mackie and this was their response:

"Sonar handles the midi routing, so it's a routing issue with Sonar.  Somehow, the messages that are supposed to be sent to the MCU are being sent to your synth or your controller.

You might open a new session in Sonar as a test, or give them a call.  I hope this helps!"

So, I did open a new project (a much bigger one at that), and the issue was non-existent.

So what does this all mean?? Do I now re-record this project because the file is somehow corrupted?

    Wondering??

I don't think it has anything to do with the MC as such. I think its a symptom of some underlying problem with something else. I would look at your audio driver first. I have used my MC for many years now and have never encountered a glitch due to it in any app that supports it.
