Vst plugin problems (B4 II and Square I)

I’m running Sonar 8.5 Pro x64 on a new Windows 7 64-bit system.  So far, I’ve noticed two problems with vst plugins:

B4 II
MIDI distortion; playing single notes the sound is ok, more than one note at a time causes distortion, the more notes that are played simultaneously, the worse the distortion gets.

Square I
if I click on ANY control knob in the Square I interface the sound stops; the only way to get the sound back is to load a new instance in the synth rack.

Running the plugins through jBridge doesn’t fix either problem and they both run fine in standalone mode.  All my other vst plugins -over a dozen- seem to be working ok.

I would first go to each of theose plugins websites and see if there compatbel with Win7 64bit. alot of non native plugins are not 64bit compatable . bit bridge and jbridge will not work on everytihng. It may be that those 2 plugs are just not ready for 64bit. So check the web sites to see the specs

My B4-II works with out problems in Sonar 8.5 64 bit on Vista 64 bit through Sonar's bitbridge.

Are your output levels too high? Turn it down and see if still distorts.

Does the distortion occur on both clean patches and those with high drive levels. B4 patches with high drive setting will distort more when more notes are played. This is an indended feature. Try adjusting B4's drive setting and see what happens.

Thanks, Glyn.  Turning the Drive down to 0 cleaned up every patch without otherwise affecting the sound (and it doesn't need jBridge after all).

On Square I, I couldn't find any info on 64-bit compatibility.  Cakewalk owns it now, so maybe I'll just e-mail support and see what they say.
