Follow Me Along..new intro and remix

Okay...i've been tweaking, cropping, honing, enveloping, compressing acoustic guitar, adding more ooommph to bass, and duck taping all over the place.   Still lots to be done i'm sure.

I wrote this 20 years ago as a children's song for a play i never finished.  I started writing then...whammmm.....LIFE happened...haven't had a chance, till now, to get back to it.

If you have any suggestions on mix please let me know.

Creighton Hack~ Bass
Firth Thud~ Drums
Jaspar Katinki~ synths
Bert Swerl~ Acoustic and Electric Guitars
Tony Chauvenist~ Vocals
Ambrose Chavelle~ Tambourine

To be honest the song did not do much for me, though I did listen to the end only fair if I am to make any type of comment.

On the mix front, very clean reasonable bass extension almost clinical top, but not a lot in the middle though.  Found the vocal Sssee in places.

Sorry No How in my opinion not one of your finest but then that is just my perspective.  Perhaps when or if there is a remix.

This sounds great! No doubt there's a lot going on with this song. When it got to the end it just stopped, did sound click's limit prevent you from uploading the whole file? Just wondering.

This has a spring time type of sound to it, excellent!!

Interesting tune.  I like the guitar surfer type sounding lick that came in around 1:36 ish.  I could picture listening to this song on the beach for some reason.
    Nice job

    Hey Rick
It makes me sick how you can write such catchy riffs. Toss some of that magic riff my way.  I really like your vox and harmonies on this one.  Love the hollow body sounding guitar lick. The mix I'm with Wookie on the vocal sss's and a touch more mid range is needed. I also think your snare and hat cymbals/cymbals are fighting for the same space. All in all another Rick classic.  KUDOS!

Rick- Because of the vocal harmonies, I get this 'Beach Boys' type style. (Just what came to mind first thing and a compliment) Southern California vibe. I like that style of guitar playing too. Very nice and smooth.

Wook, Bobby, Mike, Kev, and Larry,

Big thanks for your kind support.  You guys are great.
I appreciate the honest comments and eager ears.
I took song down as it's not ready, it appears ....perhaps another 20 springtimes is needed to ripen this one.

    Thank you.

Have to say it's not one of my faves of yours Rick, but it does sort contain have your appealing idiosyncracies that you would further develop, so i did find some aspects enjoyable.

The mix sounds very trebley on my speakers and the highs became a bit fatuiging after a while.

I have a feeling that with a better mix i could grow to like this one more than i presently do.

That said, it's interesting to see how you've developed over the past twenty years, comparing this with the music you make today.

O.K. Rick ... What the heck is this ... You got me laughing ... This is a fun song. I like your vocals and the organ especially on this.... I was hoping that Henry the Horse would do the waltz on this song as well.  I have to agree with Kev ... You write some really catchy riffs.

    Hello blipp,
Glad you could at least find some inkling worth the listen.
I also have the feeling that a better mix would make it sound better. I lowered the highs a bit and am waiting on more suggestions...if they come in......Thank you for stopping by!

    Tapster,
Hey man, i gottcha laughing!!!  AHhaha...good.  Need more of that.  I'm glad you enjoyed....i would have gotten Henry the Horse but my wife says no horses%#! in the house.

I didn't care for that thing in the beginning "at all" but you said it was a kids song? So maybe... That snare snap is boring a hole in to my madula ablungada :-( I had to turn this way down as the overall mix seemed piercing :-( I like youPost Messager voice on it.

I like the overall tune.  Nice vox and instruments are well played.  The mix needs help.  It was piercing to my ears... too much highs and not quite enough mids.  The low end seemed fine.  Otherwise, great job on the tune!

    Dreambliss,
Yes, they were too bright...i just finished another mix and took the highs down more....and added another guitar instead of the intro synth.  Thank you for coming by to listen!

    ShadDoH,
I took out the opening offensive synth (panpipe) and added a guitar line instead.  I also took the highs down even more.  No frontal cortex and now no medula?  all that's left is what runs our governments.  Where's your speech?

Finally got a chance to hear it.

It's up, it's down, it's up again. I don't recommend deleting a song. I done it once and never got over it, but that's another story.

This is definitely a catchy tune. Not your best, but real good.

I'm not sure what you have done to your vocals Rick. They don't sound as up front as they used to. Are you mixing them differently? They seem to be just there. whereas before they would control a song.
Maybe my ears are failing me, i'm not sure. Can't put my finger on it.

    Mark.

    Hi No How,

Great easy going song. It kind of reminds me of the type of music The Lovin Spoonful had some success with in the sixties. Very enjoyable.

Always creative as usual!!  I like this one!  It does have a Beachy Boy feel (a bit) but also a feeling of some of the post-hippie stuff of the later '60's group.  You have put out some interesting, fun lyrics and especially on this one.
Good one --- this song just gave me kind of a happy feeling.
