Poll : Do you eat meat? Or are you a Vegetarian?
Do you eat meat or are you a Vegetarian? I eat meat and veggies. I like them both and sometimes mixed together : "BUT ONLY AFTER COOKING". I guess I should have made this a : "Do you eat cooked food" question. I realize there are some of you out there who might only eat raw food. Kinda strange to most but I guess culture is a word best defined as : "LIVING YOUR OWN LIFE" and not a definition to define a group of others. JMO....... Electric Falcon™ - The Carnivore! Sorry Vegetarians but I can't stay away from steaks/hamburgers/roast/and other foods.

Mmmmm meat. Pork is probably my favorite. And lamb chops, and a nice porterhouse. Oh and veal, lets not forget duck either. Then there's venison, elk, antelope, caribou............... OK and pretty much everything that lives in water. Mechanically separated chicken has it place too, as in slim-jims Not a big chicken or turkey fan but will, and do, eat that too. And cornish game hens, pheasant, pigeon and quail. Not to mention things like butter, milk eggs and cheese. God I wouldn't want to live without cheese. Did I leave anything out? Mike

Mike LOL, you seem to like most all the same foods I do. Although I have never tried duck. I know certain religions wont allow certain people to eat Pork and some other foods. I've always heard that Pork is very bad for dogs and it might shut their kidneys down if they eat too much over a period of time. I'm not sure about all that, but I've heard that before though. If this is true it does make you think about what Pork does to the human body though. True or not, no doubt Pork is bad for Humans, but I like it either way! I know pork is bad for you, but I have to fix some around the holidays, I mean there is going to be some serious HAM cooking going on!!!!! Electric Falcon™

I eat "everything", and I like most of it (except for rye porridge). I've tried to cut down the meat consumption, though. I do agree to that people in the west eat about five times more meat than they should. It's both an environmental, ethical/moral and sometimes a health issue. There are so few places in the world where meat is being produced in an acceptable way. Well...if the laws concerning climate change come as strict as they should (which they don't) meat becomes so expensive you can only afford it once a week.

A few years ago I was in Las Vegas having dinner with a couple of guys from Texas. The older of the 2 had a particularly dry sort of sense of humor. As the waitress is taking his order he says the following. Waitress: And what will you have sir? Texan: I'll have the Porterhouse, rare! Waitress: And what dressing would like on your salad? Texan: Honey, salad is what food eats! Always loved that line. Randy

I've always wanted to sit down in a vegetarian restaurant and say to the waitress, "I'm sorry, but I didn't see anything that was suitable for carnivores on the menu." "I wondered whether you could do me just a small plate of meat, I don't really mind if it comes with any special sauce, but I'm afraid that I can only eat meat, so would that be OK?" Phil

I was in a cafe one time and ordered the breakfast, but asked if I could have double bacon instead of the fried egg. The waitress said 'sorry, you can't swop vegetables for meat'. I said 'umm, which one of these items is the vegetable?' 'The egg of course!!' she replied, rolling her eyes.

Nothing wrong with that Jamie does this mean you are Vegan or do you use some animal by products such as milk or cheese? I do know someone who is an extreme vegetarian he will not eat anything that cast a shadow. He only eats lichens and such. Funny things I have seen the shadow of lichen.

I don't eat beef or pork. Peoples body react differently to foods. I could when I was a kid but not now. I've been called a vegetarian. That isn't true. People have said that it's all in my head that beef and pork cause me pain. Not true. I've been called (don't eat some foods) because of religion. Not true. Never once have I ever said that I was against beef or pork. Yet there have been people who were so offended by learning that I don't eat those two that they got downright hostile.

As jimmyman says, people react differently to foods. There may be many reasons for that, perharps it`s genetical ? I eat meat but not pork. I have food intolerance and meat seems to be one of the safest food for me to eat, maybe it`s the stonage genes? It`s hard to say. Best, JH

Hi, Not all the time ... in general I'm mostly a veggie-moron these days. I do eat some of those turkey/chicken things from the health food store but that is the extent of the majority of my meat eating these days ... it's really minor for the most part.
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
