How do I line up over dub guitar parts perfectly?

when recording overdubs, How can I line up each guitar part perfectly so when I play back they are all in synch?

    I would have thought setting an appropriate snap value would do it ..if I understand your question correctly.

    A bit more info?
    Are these separate tracks of the same line, played with "normal" human fallibility, or 2 or 3 riffs that you want to play off the other...or stitching together a few "best bits" of a solo to make that composite fretfest that we couldn't possibly play first time(voice of experience here, sadly)?

    Try changing your snap to grid off, and change from "snap to frames" to "snap to samples". This will get it down to the per sample resolution. Then you have to go by trial and error. Listen to see if the timing is right. slide left or right to correct. This method is accurate to 1/44000 of a second in 44.1kbps recordings.
