Sonar 3: Soundcraft 328 vs Mackie control?

Hi!

I've used Cakewalk pro audio 9 and am looking at upgrading to Sonar 3 producer.

I'm considering either getting a Mackie control, or possibly a Soundcraft 328.
Has anyone used both and can you please compare the control surface capabilities of both as far as using Sonar 3?

thanks
Dave

thanks,
Dave

learning curve? - upgrading from Pro audio 9 to Sonar 3 August 10, 04 0:51 PM (permalink)
Hi! I'm familiar with Cakewalk pro audio 9, though I haven't used it much recently. I'm looking at upgrading to Sonar 3 producer and want to know if I'll be comfortable with it or have to go through a learning curve and if so how steep?

Primary purpose is to record audio, demos and final recordings of my original compositions. I'll use midi too.

    thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

I cant personally vouch for the Mackie control, it intergrates perfectly with Sonar, you even get what they call a Lexan overlay for Sonar with it, meaning all the button are marked out for you + you can extend it at any time with the extenders (mackie XT's)

IMHO Sonar has the easiest learning curve of all the soft sequencers, i tried them all before i bought Sonar, and the midi side of Sonar is reportedly better than Pro tools!! cool
