Installation issue.

I have what seems to be the same problem that arkora1 had in his post about not being able to install in XP SP2. The problem is, I didn't understand his resolution. Can anyone help me here?

I have done everything that manual said to do and everything goes fine, but the last window just hangs. The next and back buttons are greyed out, and nothing happens. If I click cancel, it tells me that it's not finished, and that if I click cancel, I'll need to uninstall the drivers. Is there a

I could be totally wrong, but I don't think VS-100 is supported on XP.  Alteast, they don't list XP drivers - only Vista, Windows 7 and Mac.  No XP.  FWIW

It is supported on XP.  I'm using Sonar VS on my laptop running XP.   I don't think it's supported on XP 64-bit though.

mancelot, it's hard to know what's happening.  When most USB devices are installed (I'm talking in general), the installer program attempts to connect to the device in the final steps in the process.  It sounds like the installer has reached that point and can't talk to the VS-100 and is just waiting.

I would eliminate the USB connectivity issues first.  Make sure that you're connecting to a USB 2 port, try another port, try another cable, etc.

If this doesn't work, I'd call Tech Support.  Sometimes there are some special procedures (like registry edits) that need to be done before you can recover from a failed installation.

thanks... I don't have a USB2 port available..so I think that is the problem. I am actually waiting for my new laptop to be built and shipped, so I was trying to get some experience with the VS-100 before it arrived, but I think the USB 1 port is preventing that. No worries, I'll just have to wait a few weeks.
