The performance has a folksy very natural feel... its nice to hear something captured in this way. I forget because I always record to a click which is great for time but can make things sound rigid.

George,
Thank you for listening and for your kind comments.
I played fiddle in a concert last night and was accompanied by a superb pianist from Cape Breton and it was the thrill of a lifetime.

Now that's how a pair of violins should sound! I totally appreciate the sound of orchestral violins but there is something oh so tangible about fiddlin' that just draws a person in and bids them join the dance. What a happy piece and played quite well too. The "fun-ness" of the playing comes through load and clear, especially toawards the end where the tempo picks up. You make it sound easy to play like that though I am sure it is not. Good selection of supporting instruments and a nice dry mix that sounds like I am right there in the pub watching the local players. Well done.

Very Nice as Always Scotty.  She plays very expressively and I didn't notice as may timing issues on this one and there are spots where the song speeds up and she's right there on it! Really nice. Keep up the fine work you two.

"Freedom" (a la Mel G.)

"Dang" (a la JC Wolf)

I guess bagpipes are hard to come by these days, but that's the only thing missing IMHO in that engaging intro. Scotty and Melanie... insanely good music, amazing musicianship. From a gratefull listener, thank you. Way up there with some of the best productions in the songs forum.

Regards,
jc

English, Irish, Cherokee.  Almost adds up to Scottish.  Beautful stuff.  I was looking out my window for green fields and stone walls.  Oops, nothin' but cactus and mountains out here.  Beautiful work here Scotty and Melanie.

Scottybro - I'm sure I'm Scottish - I'm sure somewhere in my lineage . . .

Anyway, as always you are perfect - this is so good - just excellent - I truly enjoyed this.

Yer as Scottish as me German Shepard, but that's okay. I made you an honorary Scotsman for listening to this long, drawn out  wee bit of torture.

Markybro,
Thank you so much for hopping aboard the boat to Scotland. I be a long way from perfect, but I still have fun with the music.
