Snap to Grid

I can't seem to find the option to change snap to grid for whole note, half note, quarter note, etc...
I work with midi drums alot and clicking around really sucks if it won't go to 00. Am I missing something? Is this a bug with X1a?

I think you have to assign them, go preferences/customization/keybindings and then find a combo that is unused, they don't currently look bound here.

There is a square button that says "snap" and has the checkerboard grid.  Immediately to the right of that button is a rectangular button.   Right click that button and all your snap to choices will appear in a drop down menu.

Let me know if I wasn't clear enough.

Looks like maybe I was thinking too complicated. Yeah, right click should give you the options

[<font]A big problem for most. Lots of extra clicks in the future.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Yeah, clear as a bell Blix, simply doesn't work. I even tried to assign a key as Chris suggested, to no avail...I think it's broke. In 8.5.3 you could "feel" the groove if you will and it was easy to sling around midi clips and keep them in perfect timing. I'm digging the new interface and find alot to like about it, but if the fundamentals is out of whack, maybe Cakewalk shoulda waited a bit to release this.

Click the middle mouse button while in PRV then choose the snap setting there. That choose the note snap or duration. You can also set this in the 'Tools' module.

Click the large snap to button on the control bar and that sets the snap parameters for the rest of the PRV.

For example if you click on 1/16th notes with the middle mouse button (tools module) you can add 1/16 notes into the PRV but if you have Whole Measures selected in the other (control bar) snap setting you can only put in one 1/16 note per whole measure.

If you choose 1/16 in both places you can add 16 - 1/16 notes per measure. Etc.

Snap to does exactly that it snaps to the grid.

Snap by let's you move any clip that exact snap distance - from any place in the track. Say you have a clip that starts 3:01:540 and you want to move it exactly a 1/4 note or a measure. Snap by let's you move 'by' that amount.

Ok, middle click is like "t" and that is good for adding notes. What I thought we were talking about was the global snap and how there isn't any way (other than keybinding) to get different global snap settings by keystrokes.
