CD Architect tutorials?
Are there any tutorials for using CD Architect floating around? I feel dumb and foolish every time I try to reorder some tracks and usually just build a new .cdp project from scratch I know that's really lame on my part... it seems like I am missing some real simple things and am hoping to not have to read a couple hundred pages of manual to move up in competency on the program. Thanks. best regards, mike

Yuck I just went to YouTube and it's CD Architect videos are overwhelmingly dedicated to teaching folks how to crack the trial copy. I just want to get better at using my licensed copy. Off to the SONY website. Maybe someone can suggest a legit pay to view tutorial? thanks, mike

Mike, I use CDA, but I always try to get it sounding and sequenced exactly how I like in Sonar before importing it to CDA. My "Album" project consists of the same number of tracks as I have songs. I thn import them, one at a time into their own track, and drag them around until it's what I want, something like this -------- -------- -------------- -------------- --------------------- --------------------- -------- -------- --------------- --------------- At least this way, I don't have to learn all of the ins & outs of CDA - just how to burn a CD
CbB, Platinum, 64 bit throughoutCustom built i7 3930, 32Gb RAM, 2 x 1Tb Internal HDD, 1 x 1TB system SSD (Win 7), 1 x 500Gb system SSD (Win 10), 2 x 1Tb External HDD's, Dual boot Win 7 & Win 10 64 Bit, Saffire Pro 26, ISA One, Adam P11A,

Thanks guys. I've had CD Architect for many years... I usually put everything on one track. But when I try to reorder the songs I end up with a mess of overlaps and stuff I want to avoid. I'll give both ideas a try. I have feeling that there may be a video somewhere that will provide my with that AHA moment where I can suddenly drag the clips back and forth and have the songs shuffle around without creating undesired overlaps. Thanks, mike

I understand you correctly first enable snapping. If you're not cross-fading & the tunes in your project are completed with start times / fades you can either remove all tunes from the time-line then quickly double them in media pool in sequence. - or click+hold+drag on the songs cd track title in the time-line/ (then right click set to correct pause time if needed) There must be some vids out there. spelling edit

That pretty much what I do... but I keep think there must be a way to shuffle them on the time line. Thanks for your help and advice. I think it's time to simply read the manual and finally learn the program... I have just been avoiding wading through all the features I don't use like the efx, fades and stuff. best regards, mike

Mike, I've found you just have to grab the songs and move them to insert a new one in the middle. And you have to be sure and pull the name(s) thingy underneath in the timeline too. IF you find an easy way to shuffle stuff, let us know. @
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Alright!!! I was just coming back to report that I had my ahah moment while reading the manual and AT, you just showed me the second way. I had just found that you can use the track list to reorder quickly by dragging the tracks up and down the list. Also, AT just showed me that you can drag and drop the information labels in the CD Layout Bar to do the very same. I thought I had tried that before... and when you grab the wave form drawing it works totally differently. For years now I have tried cut and paste with ripple edit option active and it always closed the "pause" that is between the clips... so I always made a mess and got a bit frustrated. Today I finally figured out the 2 really easy ways to do what I was calling "shuffling" my songs to experiment with different play lists. Thanks so much for all the help! best regards, mike edited to use nomenclature as used in the manual.

Yeah, like what AT suggested. I just open the second layer and drag tracks around, back and forth, in the desire order. CDA is pretty darn simple. I have also used the track list as you have found. Anyhow, seems like you got it. Kind regards, Living Room Rocker
