there are two main guitar parts on the chorus, one uses a heavy distorted open C#. The whole guitar is a semi tone down and the bottom Eb is then tuned a further tone down, so the equivalent of dropped D.
There are two main guitar parts in the choruses. One is an open heavy chord pattern and the other involves the open strings with the melody part on the fourth and fifth strings, if that makes sense? You can pick out which angle is which part if you look closely, i think the widest guitar angle is the melody guitar part.

That's interresting about a nylon guitar, I don't have one, but I agree it'd probably sound great. I do like the Taylor though, sounds pretty nice to me at least :)
