Yeah, it's gotten so bad that even Usher, that paragon of unique style and creativity, has to copy Homer Simpson.

A few things come to mind:

1- maybe you tried to insert it is an FX in the bin instead of a Synth but in the FX bin.

If not that then ..

2- After you set it up via Pluginmanager, make sure you exit pluginmanager and only after you've done the setup should insert Stutter Edit.

IOW - if you already had it inserted it won't work until it has the right parameters.

One way to check is to start a fresh project, go into pluginmanager and look under VST Intruments.  Stutter Edit should up there and NOT under VST Effects.

If it does, try loading an audio track (wav or something), insert S E into it's FX bin as a synth.

Then create the MIDI track to trigger it as per my outline.

Does this work ?   Let me know.

Oh - and do you actually SEE Stutter Edit in the list when you go to insert it in an FX bin?

I don't know if it's 64bit yet or not, so maybe that has something to do with it too.

I tried the demo and it worked for me in 32 bit.   I decided not to buy it, so I can't really tell ya much more :(

Thanks for the tip on The Finger.    I already got Stutter though, and most say I'm liking it, although I'm sure I'm only scratching the surface.

Ok, I picked up The Finger, but now I need to get it to work, lol.   I tired loading it as an ensemble in Reactor 5, but I couldn't find it (note I looked in the folder where I told it to install)

Thanks,

Mathew

Ok, I found it in reactor, but can't seem to get it to load when it's in Sonar (or show up I guess)

I can see it if I just load it in Reactor stand alone.

If you have Kore Player or Kore2 software edition, that might be a better approach.   Just load the Kore2FX in the bin, then add a MIDI track to trigger it (as above).

I think with reactor it's loaded under a different tab within Reactor.

But I find using Kore2 much more controllable and easy to setup and be able to have multiple instances with separate MIDI trigger tracks - opening up a very wide array of possibilities, including have more than one preset of the finger available.

Using Kore it's a much more straightforward approach.

Yes, that's where I finally got it opened up in.   Now I just need to figure it out.

I didn't think you could open up multiple instances of Kore2FX? At least the last time I did I ran into crashes... mind you I'm running 64 bit OS and 64 bit Sonar

I'm on 32bit, so I don't know if there is/was a 64bit version or not, but I can definitely have a number of Kore2FX inserted without issues (8.5.3 - haven't tried in X1).

Hello, it's so many plugs becoming available to do Stutter effects and more.
I would like to see a new Cakewalk video's with others accomplishing this Stutter task in Sonar X1
using whatever is available, at your disposal whether it's by a midi plugin or a favorite DJ external unit.

The newest is
Turnado - Sugar Bytes
[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Non9s-jajzU&feature=related]http://www.youtube.com/wa...zU&feature=related[/link]
[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ghbczux8ig8&feature=related]http://www.youtube.com/wa...g8&feature=related[/link]

Stutter Edit - Izotope

The Finge r- Native Instruments

Glitch - (free)
[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCgENwOytuA&feature=related]http://www.youtube.com/wa...uA&feature=related[/link]

Effectrix - SugarBytes
[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsk1mJ_vwZw&feature=related]http://www.youtube.com/wa...Zw&feature=related[/link]

Artillery2 - SugarBytes
[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H7otqtUnQk&feature=related]http://www.youtube.com/wa...Qk&feature=related[/link]

Perhaps on a update, an additional purchase or in the next Sonar X2, Cakewalk can design such a midi controlled effect plugin
that will perform effect task such as DJ type Glitching Stuttering and more.

Where would we go on this forum to make this suggestion to Cakewalk?
Thanks for reading.
Peace & blessings.

Stutter Edit is amazing. At least. If you're trying to record for the young, "hip" market :), it's a must have. It can really put the extra umph into a record. This is such an intelligent plugin. So much of the "work" has been done for you. Even a beginner can do the most amazing things with it.
It depends on what market you're aiming for. But if you're into that JLo, Kelly Clarlson, Selena Gomez, current hit thing, you've got to have this one.

I see this is an old thread.

I'm finishing up with a complete re-install and getting all my plugins up and running in Sonar X2.

I'm trying to get my Stutter Edit working again.  I love it and can't seem to get it to show up in the Instrument Browser.  I've configured the vst as an instrument in the Plugin Manager.  It shows up in the Instruments List in the Plugin Manager, but, it's still showing up in the FX browser in Sonar X2.  I compared the settings to other Vst instruments in the PM and set them accordingly.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
