And yes my VS700R had strange behaviour before I opened it to reveal the converters! I think these are system problems but I just want to make shure.

What do you mean? Only issue I had was flashing lights after firmware update. Roland replaced the main board in one day. Excellent customer service.

Ok this was the only problem. Mine is related to stability. I also get latency when playing the fantom connected in the vs midi port. Also ARX compatibility in 64x is aweful, to say the least. I was forced to go 32bits and wait for updates. Anyway I'm not recording a lot these time so I haven't spent a lot of time on these issues, but I'm still not 100% confident. Probably my fault but these kind of issues are still really time and patience consuming.

Probably my fault but these kind of issues are still really time and patience consuming. It is a 32 bit synth. I guess you know you can route your keyboards-Midi devices via a Midi merger and USB to the PC and get almost no latency while using the Fantom. I have two keyboards and a percussion pad hooked up. With proper channel routing you can seperate all devices to specific channels in the Fantom, channel 10 for drums, I use channel 6 for my PCR800 and channel 1 for my SH201. You can also use a workstation synth that sends on multiple channels to record each seperate part of a backing track and a real time lead in Midi. What stability issues are you having?

I'm curious as your stability issues as well. I had no stability issues on windows XP, 7 32 and 64 and even Mac OSx! Firmware driver mismatches maybe?

As I think again, most of my issues were setting related inside Windows. First some of the drivers in windows disapeared for unknown reasons when it was unused for a certain amount of time. When I was opening the playback devices in windows, some of the outputs were not available/disapeared. I finally figured I had to change my power setting and unallow the usb port to sleep to save energy... seem to be ok now. Also sometimes when I power off my computer and then power it on later, my default output (which is sub cause my current speakers don't allow xlr connection and I'm too lazy to solder xrl connectors to the actual cable) is switched back to main. I figured there's a power on/off sequence that correct this for me: power on: vs700c-vs700r-computer power off: computer-cs700r-vs700c For the vs700c, sometimes the display over the panning knob are offset by one character to the left. So my first pan display shows "00% 1" and so on. Also when I change my track inputs with the encoders, there's often a lag (2-3 sec) before responding and it even crashed Sonar a couple of times. Those things were happening in Sonar X1 x64 and I haven't tested them since I've installed the 32bits version. That"s all that come to my mind right now and you'll think those are very minor issues and you're right;) I know it's an EXTREMELY boring post but those are a little annoying for my workflow and hope it will help someone or someone will have some advices!

Regarding the Fantom and latency I'm getting, I tested everything yesterday and the fantom response is related to the buffer size.... so I'm definately stupid... When the buffer is set at max (46msec roundtrip or so) I hear a delay which seem to be half that... but I was monitoring through Sonar not through the VS direct mixer... so I was hearing the output latency... so if anyone have this "problem" this might be the fix... Once again I'm out of topic in an epic way so please excuse my previous useless posts!
