Rapture etc REALLY need to have an ability to determine where the files go, and change directories.

I don't want any data on my C drive, and yet Cakewalk keeps putting it there.

+1
Do you guys move the Dim Pro/Rapture data files to your samples folder or just keep it on the C: Drive?

what about the sound center..where are those supposed to go?

Hi, Charlie - Those free sample packs were crazy to get going - Hard to understand why Cakewalk would promote these rather proudly, but then offer no instructions for installing them, and letting some screwball kind of programming slip in.

I got them going, learned the F5 trick with Rapture as discussed earlier in this thread (post #13 and others) - but now it's been a month and I really can't recall what all was involved.  I listened to the so-so sounds once after I got them working, and haven't touched them since - these things haven't been on my mind.

So, sorry I can't help more at this point - I just now looked in some folders - You asked where do the Sound Center sounds go.  On my machine, they're in the Cakewalk Vstplugins folder, under Cakewalk Sound Center in the Multisamples folder.

Someone here probably has better recall of other info you need.

Maybe Dimension Pro is taking offense at being called Demented!---sorry--couldn't resist.

Those danged expansion packs - So not worth the trouble, absurd that Cakewalk claimed they were of $50 value - and now they've caused people so many hassles.

I really don't know what the problem is there, Charlie.

so all of you guys that are getting these expansion packs for free, did you have X1 prior to the promotion?  my concern is that once I upgrade to X1 I won't get the expansion packs for free since most likely I will be registering after the 28th which seems really unfair since this promotion suppose to be aimed at current up graders and not ones who upgraded back in December.  I think whoever is in charge of the marketing has made things very unfair to those who upgrade during the promotion but won't be getting their FREE sound packs since some users aren't able to register on or before the 28th.

this guy...
hey also just read earlier in this thread and kinda got some insight

Yes, I remember him being so upset he couldn't get at the patches - the ones I un-installed some time ago and haven't thought about since.  Funny to have this fiasco brought up again - Not sure what you meant, Charlie, by how you "just read earlier in this thread and kinda got some insight"--?  But that's OK - These expansion packs were a little blip in Cakewalk's promotional agenda which kind of backfired, seems to me, so we best probably just move on.
