You should check this keyboard out, I have it and it works well in low light areas. The keys are not shiney so you can still see what is on the keys. This keyboard taught me a few shortcuts I didn't know existed.
http://www.logickeyboard.com/shop/cakewalk-sonar-x1-2445p.html

That is a nice keyboard......but, it comes with a $124.90 price tag (for the US)....
How's the quality of it and useage wise?

I got the same stickers that you all are talking about and applied them to my keyboard and it was ok but, then I found this one virtually the same day I recieved my keyboard stickers.

I would have to say that the quality of the keyboard is very, very good. The top portion is made from aluminum and has the "SONAR X1 by Cakewalk" Inprinted on it. The keys are very easy to read and see compared to the stickers (night and day between the two). It gives more visual shortcuts and has really help me get around a whole lot easier and also has an additional usb port on both sides of the keyboard.

The price is a little rich but, IMO it is worth it if you want to add it to your studio as a great tool.

I'm curious of those who've gotten stickers, how long have they remained useful? Really, they seem more of a 'flash card' type item, in that they help one learn the shortcuts mentally. Just like when one can touch type, the letters on the keyboard aren't very relevant anymore. Just curious...

I decided to try a slightly different approach since I wasn't sure whether I wanted to use these.

I got the stickers, but I also bought a keyboard skin. I figure I'll attach them to the skin. If I have a problem, or I don't like them, I can just remove the skin.

I haven't actually done it yet - I just got them. If anyone is interested, I can report back once I do...

I just got the X1 Keyboard stickers in the mail today.

I ordered them from here:

http://www.4keyboard.com/sonarxkeyboardstickers-p-493.html

I bought a new cheap keyboard and applied them to it. I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality, look and feel of these. I would recommend them to all Sonar X1 users.

I just noticed they are even on sale at the moment.

Thanks to the OP on these or I would have never found them.

Sorry for the crappy pics, that's the best I could get it...

I bought a set of these but they sent me ones for an earlier version of SONAR - their reply.

"We have a lot customers who use old version Sonar and not planning to use X version."

Just be careful that you get the ones you order.

I just ran across this thread - I don't have much experience with X1 - How many of these stickers would apply for X2a? I haven't been able to come across anything specific for that.

Sonar Platinum (lifetime sub) :: Windows 8.1 Pro :: AMD FX-8350 CPU, 16GB ram :: 120GB SSD (boot), 1TB 7200rpm HDD (data/projects) :: (dual) Focusrite Saffire Pro40 (TI chipset on FW card) :: lots of plugins :: lots of various midi controllers and hardware synths :: Pearl Drums/Paiste Cymbals/Roland & Alesis Electronic pads.

a few strokes have changed but for the better part a lot have stayed the same, id 90% of them, so ya, id say a lot apply and it would be a good purchase.
just do some good prep work first, ive heard some say these slide off after a few days or weeks and leave you with a messy gewy adhesive cluster of sorts.
just wipe down the keys with alcohol. and apply.

Windows 8.1 X64 Sonar Platinum x64

...Look good, but because my keyboard is illuminated, they won't be going on the keys...
...I may keep the stickers intact as a cheat sheet...

I ordered a set years ago for Sonar 8.5.3 but ended up not putting them on.
But I would have to do the same because I use an illuminated keyboard as well - the Logitech K800.

A tad expensive but I like how it auto-lights up as soon as my hands approach it, and dims down & out again.

It also auto-senses the light in the room depending on the relative day light or night light and only lights up as necessary.

There's also 5 manual settings for varying brightness to over ride.

Very smooth to type on the lower profile - and wireless to boot!

So I wouldn't stick anything on it, but a cheat sheet would be the idea.

I would even hope that I would remember the key strokes after a while, but these days there's no guarantee!

Why no version for Sonar X2? Is there one in the works?

Dean L. Surkin - Steinway A (1902, rebuilt 1988), Kawai MP8, Yamaha KX-76; Intel i7-4770K, 32GB, RME AIO; HP ZR30w (great monitor!); Sonar Platinum, Garritan JABB3 and GPO4, VB3
One day, when I have the time, I will learn how to use all the features of Cakewalk 2.0. Oh, wait, Sonar 8.5. What did you say? Sonar version what?

The 4keyboard stickers are great! Once you stick them on the keys, forget it.  As I stated in the other thread, I bought 3 MS 2000 keyboards for $30 and the three sets of stickers.  I am using Sonar X2, Sound Forge and Vegas.  They also have the sets for Sonar 2 thru 8.
Cheers

Win 10 Pro x64, 32Gb DDR3 ram, Sonar Platinum, Cubase 9.5, Mackie MCU Pro, Cakewalk VS 100, Roland Octa-Capture,  A 800 Pro, Carver M-1.5t amp & C4000 pre amp, various mics, drums and brass instruments.

And away we go!

Am I the only one who thinks the stickers look like they should be for Fruity Loops and not Sonar ?  Besides doesn't anyone use custom key bindings ?

I hate to rain on the parade here with all of the sticker love, but I did this on a cheap keyboard for protools about 1 year and a half or so back. The stickers came off after a week or two of regular use. (I may have had an old batch..I don't know) I did super glue them back on and they have stayed however the sticker corners have now rolled up and it makes typing a PITA as your finger get caught on the edges. . I highly recommend the X1 keyboard. They quality is fantastic and it's just a beautiful addition to a studio setup.

Bandlab Platinum and every other toy I can get my hands on...and yes I'm way in debt over this obsession...

Ive got these stickers and they seem great.  No problems with them coming off.  I do think the trick is, make sure you clean the keyboard first.  Would highly recommend these.

My trick is to have 2 keyboards: one with stickers and one without.  The stickers make typing awkward and the colours are distracting.

Like jac, I put my X1 set over a clear keyboard skin so I can easily remove or change in future.  After about a year of moderate use a couple of the stickers got a little loosy goosy, but they also had some help from my desktop assistant who thought they would be a good chew toy.  Otherwise, I like 'em, especially the economical solution they present. I made myself learn the new shortcuts after verifying or changing the shortcut settings to match the stickers.
Best,
HeyDan
