This is where SONAR Plus lives on my screen.  I wish that it would look more built in once it is in position.  As I mentioned on the other forum, is it possible to use some sort of transparent bitmap image for the background of the toolbar so that it would disappear and seemingly make the icons look like they were part of the menu.
Hi Dave,
Yes, I remember your comment about making the toolbar look more built in (like the new CV, PRV and Staff menu buttons I added in v1). I've added it to the list to look at for a future update.
Secondly, in the screenshot above, your toolbar doesn't look right at all!! This is what it should look like:

Obviously this is the full toolbar. The idea is to customize it to remove all the buttons you don't use to reduce clutter.
Anyway, if your screenshot is representative of what you are seeing, then there is clearly a problem with Plus! Anyone else seeing it look like this?
Thanks,
Ben

Edit: See below. I really like the transparent background idea. I'll try and add it soon.

A question for some of those who mentioned they don't like the Plus toolbar: Is it just the way it looks (the toolbar colour, some/all of the button icons etc) that bothers you, or simply the fact that you don't like toolbars with lots of small buttons? If it's just the way it looks, what sort of look/layout would you prefer. I like SteveStrummerUK's custom Control Bar module for example.
I'll probably get rocks thrown at me but if the icons aren't integrated, I'd rather have them larger where I can see them better.  I happen to like the Control Bar Smart tool size.

It may surprise you to learn that I feel the same way. I'd rather have Control Bar sized buttons too. The problem with Plus is that it has a floating toolbar, and has to be quite small to fit on the screen without obscuring anything. That's why I did it that way, and not because I like the 8.5.3 look.

Here's a question. I don't like the full screen mode because I can't see the name of the project I'm working on and sometimes I have more than one project open or I'm experimenting and want to see the name. Is there a way to get the project name to show in full screen mode?

There is actually an opton in Plus preferences for this. In the 'General' tab, under 'Full Screen Mode', uncheck/untick the 'Hide SONAR window title bar' option. When you go full screen, a slightly smaller version of the SONAR title bar will still be displayed, with the project name in it, and the Windows task bar will still be hidden.

Excellent idea, such as this, perhaps?

Oh, I see what you mean (sorry, Dave I guess I didn't read your post properly).

That's an excellent idea. So much so that I think I'll look into adding it for my X1b update (whenever Cake release X1b that is).
