Since I last posted I've been put off by all the negative experiences I've read about. And I'm really not in the market for another Focusrite interface.

Can't they make this into a plugin already?

This Isone product seems to be the plugin that you're looking for, perhaps. Try the free demo. I was reading about it on KVR, too. http://www.kvraudio.com/db/tb-isone-by-toneboosters Some people seem to think it performs quite well.  http://www.toneboosters.com/tb-isone/

From the Tone Booster site:
"The perfect listening room… Many have experienced the difficulty to realize a listening environment free of standing waves, undesirable reflections, the perfect reverb time, perfect loudspeaker placement with a flat frequency response, and without any disturbance for others.

With TB Isone, a stereo virtual reproduction system and listening room can now be experienced simply using a high-quality headphones. The frequency response and the directivity pattern of the loudspeakers can be adjusted. Furthermore, the reverb time and volume of the virtual listening room and the distance to the virtual loudspeakers can be fully customized.
TB Isone employs real-time HRTF (head-related transfer function) and BRIR (binaural room impulse response) processing in a flexible VST plugin format."

The VRM is excellent...works well at first I had problems setting it up but now it runs smooth...smooth as butter on hot bread!!! The VRM shows you how your mix will sound in different environments, whats wrong with that? You can be happy that it sounds just the way you want it, which means you only have to get it right once. Focusrite have outshone themselves with this.

I have a VRM Box and use it to check what I've done, but it's only one part of the equation for checking mixes.  Or I don't rely on the VRM box as my sole source for checking a mix.  I also play them on home stereo systems, boom boxes and car stereos to see how they sound (and usually it's back to remixing, especially for the first mix).

If Focusrite wanted to enhance this product, one thing they should certainly do is add several variations of car stereo and boomboxes.

It would be great if there was a mono option as well, from a simulated centally placed speaker.
